Streets is Dead: Barbershop Edition

When I was in college the nigga Ashley Howard, the assistant coach for Villanova used to cut my hair in the dorms .. that's the best I got for y'all

But i do agree with this thread unless you getting a appointment just walking in and waiting for a haircut was the worst. Plus having a unprofessional barber talking while cutting/ walking out to take a phonecall/ go to the liquor store down the same complex. I remember getting to the barbershop around 3-330 and not getting home til round 6. reason i stopped right there

Walked in like 11am, walked out 11:45

It was only 2 customers in the shop, 2 barbers. I hopped in the first chair available.

Paid $35 tipped $5 told them catch them next time

Not me, but I know dudes who equate high price with quality

Thats why some of these barbershops think they can charge what they do FOH, no way a $100 haircut is better then lets say a $30 from a barber that knows what he’s doing. The covid era really got these shops thinking folks will just pay whatever for a cut still nowadays.

I think what most of ya'll are missing or rather you may not give a shit is there was a shift from people cutting hair on the side and then turning it into a full time livelihood.

They have to make up that loss of other income from somewhere. I'm not saying this is all barbers, but this applies to a lot of them. They are often self insured as well as they dont have the luxury of an employer kicking in a lion share of the premium.

Dont get me wrong...there are some that simply just try to get over on people, but the fact that literally every single thing has gone up since the days of the $20 haircut, it's crazy ya'll think that should stay the same price.

Things go up, yeah, but $100+ for a haircut??? Nah b.

And that shit didn't start until the pandemic, so we already know that was part of the price gouging folks were doing across the board. It's the same reason why you can't find a drive-able a-to-b beater for $1000 anymore. During the pandemic all of those were suddenly $5000+. So we know why niggas charging $100 for a simple cut exists, I think we're just calling bullshit on it.

Facts!!!! Then a ninja might bring him and 3 other boys with him. I used to be mad as hell when they used to bring all of their kids with them because I knew that I was about to live in the barbershop for a good 5 hours before it was time to leave. Although, my barber is really not a barber but an estestician. But I'll pay a little extra, so I can get an assigned appointment, get in and out. Instead of wasting my whole Saturday for a haircut. Plus my barber is cold on the clips, so I'll rock with her price.

Yep… u still making money charging $30 a head especially you have your usuals on a routine. Once you think you that good and better then the best and haircut now go for $100… you lost your fucking mind. That might be true for “celebrity” barbers that get over charging that because those clients have stupid money to blow but the everyday person nah…. I let Barbara at Fantastic Sam a try (note I’m bald so that shit don’t matter anymore to me in reality but y'all blessed niggas with hair… the games all fucked up nowadays 😂 go ahead and shave it and enjoy the savings)

I think there's a thread on how much people pay

Mines like 35 but I always tip 10. They're not using a tablet but a small electronic device that looks like the first iphone. Strangely annoying now that I think about it but they have it as percentages and I always have to click the other and type out the amount
