This is funny. I happened to watch Bernie Mac & Ashton Kutcher movie over the weekend. Viewing it with a more mature mind I thought that despite mentions of stereotypical things for laughs, the black family was represented well. But to be fair, the whites havent had a "Seventh Heaven" in awhile.

THey arent thats why i stay rewatchin those from 90s . None of the shows now hitShe mainly used 80s/90s sitcoms as examples. I could be wrong, but I don't see sitcoms being made anymore from black or white people.
Those were based in black trauma not positivity.Just say you weren't into lovecraft county
The watchmen series
Shits were still good, and had good ass characters...Those were based in black trauma not positivity.
Im not sure what all you wrote has to do with black people/characters being portrayed in a positive light. Nobody is debating the quality of the shows, performances or reception.Shits were still good, and had good ass characters...
How many black sci-fi/horror shit is out that's legit good??
Black trauma? Yes.
Black excellence? Definitely.
People wanted a season 2 so bad they ain't even care that there was no more source material. It was a genre that we definitely enjoyed representation in...
Now I didn't mention "Them" cuz while that shit was horror too....I feel that one relied way too much on the trauma.... With Lovecraft country it was a part of the backdrop... But not heavy focus.... It was on some other shit...
And watchmen, c'mon bruh.... That was definitely not a focus
... Black Mr Manhattan and Regina King put on some serious compelling performances. Let's not reduce that to negativity and black trauma ...
Those were some good and popular shows that a lotta black watchers embraced
She left him for about half a season then they got back... I think. I need to go finish that at some point.THE UPSHAWS IS NOT A POSITIVE BLACK SHOW! Mike Epps be treating Kim Fields like shit! Has she left him yet? I checked out on that terrible ass shit lol.
Fair. Not enough shows people just being black and happy without excessive trauma or just an overall negative show.
