Sources tell Nexus Point News that makeup and prosthetics will be used for the film’s antagonist. In addition, actors with a strong build and stature are being looked at for the role. The makeup and prosthetic portion, heavily hints at the character being Brainiac, known for his green skin and technological enhancements. Another character, heavily speculated by fans to be the villain is Mongul, whom the casting description could be hinting at as well. Mongul is particularly known for his size and the makeup could be used to recreate his yellow skin.

Braniac was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino and debuted in Action Comics #242 in 1958. Brainiac is a super-intelligent alien from the planet Colu who’s depicted as one of Superman's greatest enemies. He’s a 12th level intellect and is known for shrinking and stealing cities as part of his collection.

Mongul was created by Len Wein and Jim Starlin and debuted in DC Comics Presents #27 in 1980. Mongul is a powerful alien warlord who rules Warworld. Mongul’s sister, Mongal, appeared in The Suicide Squad (2021) portrayed by Maylin Ng.

Too soon for Brainiac in my opinion but what do I know. Still amped

That's the problem. It'll always get compared to marvel

Anyway it's too soon for that level of villain
You still aint give any reason as to why its too soon. It isnt too soon cause we have no idea whats to come of any of this. Even then Gunn already stated that the overarching villain is some obscure ass character. Let these niggas cook man.... this is no different than Feige originally wanting the Mandarin for IronMan 1. Or Cap going against Red Skull in the first movie and Black Panther going against Killmonger.

All of them could have benefited from having those characters built up before introduced so early. Kinda like creating a mini Thanos situation for each franchise.

I wanna hear two nerd answers to humor me

1. Who do you yall want to see Superman fight ?

2. Why is it too soon?

He's unimaginably intelligent, has telekinesis and is a telepath, he can take possession of people (think borg)

He's miniaturized cities and planets to add to his collection. He's also destroyed many worlds

Im glad theyre using brainiac. I dont think he's going to be a one and done villain either. I would think that Gunn knows how big brainiac is to superman and the justice leagues lore. This could just be their first encounter with brainiac. Excited to see his first big screen appearance.

i think the supergirl movie will introduce the threat, and the superman movie will deal with it directly....

if done over 2 movies, it should be handled properly
