Agree. Plus High school kids are cruel as hell. Kids judge each other on a lot of shit. Say Karmelo turns the other cheek, all this does is make him known as a soft target. Other kids gonna start trying him because they feel like he will not defend himself, he’ll just run away anytime he’s confronted.

I encourage people to talk to their kids, nephews, nieces. Ask them what happens to a kid who always “removes himself from confrontation “.

It’s easy for us adults to give advice having lived through things with poise, but these are adolescent minds that are susceptible to all kinds of pressure and influence in their decisions.

It's a reason that schools in America, from high school to middle school have metal detectors in them. Checking for weapons, and drugs, etc. Weapons such as guns, knives, etc, which are used to kill or cause serious harm to someone.

It was a school event. Ok so he takes your advice and punches Austin. A couple of scenarios of either it's solo (doubtful), he gets jumped (possible), it gets broken up quickly (likely). It was at a school event so he's getting suspended for throwing the first punch regardless of getting shoved first and whatever that does to his status on the team and if he's got scholarships lined up

So that's a better scenario to you than what I suggested earlier? How?

This is the heart of the issue but it didn't justify stabbing anyone. And in this case even tho im certain he didn't want the boy to die that is what happened.

The problem is thats what happened and now one of them is dead. There was no point in the altercation that a knife needed to be brought out and no point in the altercation someone needed to be stabbed. Full stop.

These are children not grown men. So yeah turning the other cheek should be one of their go to moves.

Based on the testimonies it is what it is. Karmelo gotta go sit for a minute. What people should be questioning is the all white jury and the sentencing not people's sentiments in the thread. That will pay you nothing but dust.

That said, I'll say with pretty high confidence that if the roles were reversed, there's no way the white kid would have gotten a 35 yr sentence for this in TX. Everybody knows that's true even if they won't admit it.

Rant was after the incident because there was a gag order. I looked up the video and it's edited in that tweet. He definitely said that shit but the context was him responding to comments that the case was about race. So he pulled a "you want it to be about race...well let me say something racist".
