Im more upset at the turn the other cheek, oh just walk away talk seemingly being the focus here. I understand it completely.. its still bothersome to me thought
Turning the cheek is this case (pause) isn’t really meant as turning the cheek but more so walking away and or avoiding an overblown situation that didn’t need to come even close to what had occurred.
Black parent/kids gotta be taught the very obvious that here there’s still not an apple to apples comparison. Two humans can be in the same scenario, doing the same thing, facing the same “what if” or consequences only difference is the color or their skin. The odds are very much in the favor for the white then the black.. it’s a horrible situation but thats still is today’s reality.
I was told something similar from my parents very young and although I didn’t fully understand then why we all wasn’t judged or treated the same like how it was within the family, it made more and more sense later in life, and thats coming from a very mixed family. Once you was outside them walls and in the real world is became very obvious.
