Reviews rolling in and...

This is easily one of the most interesting films I've seen this year. I will say you have to have some patience because after the first scene, it goes into fleshing out the main characters. I thought Parsons did a great job building the tension throughout. This shit was eerie and had the hair on my arms standing up. Something about found footage that terrifies me, I blame the Blair Witch Project lol. Score and sound design helped to build the atmosphere. Excellent work from Chiwetel and Renate. Milioti missed a great opportunity cause this is about to do numbers.

This movie will leave you wanting more.
More backrooms scenes were needed.
You achieve that by having more people.
Too much time was wasted inside the therapist's office, whatever her back story was and other unnecessary shit.
A lot of people eating it up though.
People clapped at end of my showing.
I saw kids as little as 12 years old and I wonder if it was the YouTube effect.
My 9 year old knew about it because of YouTube ads.
I give it a 6.5 outta 10 and I'm being generous with that.
I really can't call it cheeks maybe cause of the hype. Idk.
The YouTube playlist is better if you wanna enjoy the lore of it.

I'ma go out on a limb and say he should've did the whole film as a found footage film.
Grainy with 80s, 90s aesthetics.
That would have been bolder.

I went in not knowing a thing about Backrooms

Only went bcuz my sons (14) & (11) wanted to go. They know about it from YouTube.

I want my mf money back. Shit was dumb and boring.

Didnt get the appeal at all. Now i dont like scary movies but this shit wasn't even scary anyway.

Surprised its rated R felt like PG13 would be more accurate.

Both my kids thought it was good. They both said 7/10 but also that the youtube vids are better and the movie didnt do as much as they hoped for

The backstory is important because we get the sense that the backrooms is essentially generated from our memories and our trauma. For example, I would not be surprised if Clark was abusive towards his ex-wife. That still figure in the room with the red hair was her and the way she ran when the Pirate Clark entity was coming into the room
