COMMUNITY Fair/ Foul: Are BLK folks currently portrayed in enough of a positive light on Television/Streaming to you right now?

Just got chopped up and my barber had that Fresh Prince remake playing and it was my first time watching it

Lmaoooooooooooooooo

Horrible right?

Terrible

The acting, story and writing in these shows are so bad and over the top

That's funny because my wife watched it for the first time when she was getting her locs tightened. She came back talking about her and the chick that did her hair thought it was good. I watched one episode and it was after Will got kidnapped and Jeffrey saved him and then came back like he just been through some gangsta ish. I was like "Nah bruh." lol

lol look at yall shittin on a positive black show. scust

Steve Harvey show
Cedric had like 3
Bernie Mac
Jamie Foxx
Okay so including my wife and kids you have shows that star:

Damon wayans
Steve
Harvey
Cedric the entertainer
Bernie Mac
Jamie Foxx

Outside of Jamie Foxx none of these niggas are actors but comedians

How can you replicate this these days? Look how there’s barely any shows back then with black actors first and foremost

Beta is mad he doesn't have kids.

Cuz kids shows are cooking right now

Gabbies Dollhouse
Doc mcstuffins
Craig of the Creek..

Of course I wouldn't expect you to be in touch

Why do they have to be replicated you pos

Are comedians the only people that are capable of creating positive stories about the black family?
no im not saying it has to but i wanted to open eyes as to who had a show

Maybe they are less inclined to do shows now because of that

Let me break character

I'm still not sure what this has to do with the conversation

Are you suggesting comedians as actors don't have the same draw they once did?

I think more than anything, the media landscape has impacted this the most

Networks as well knew growing up are on borrowed time. These studios are cutting the budgets and telling people to do more with less

Maybe the juice isn't worth the squeeze? Or the size of the hoops they have to jump have changed

First you gotta think what actors can even be in a successful sitcom

Then if you think sitcoms might be reserved for comedic actors/comedians you have to wonder who those people are

Druski? Lol
