maybe her issue isn’t industry as much as it is what she allows herself to do to maintain the brand that’s in her mind.

I be seeing other roles women have and it doesn’t even seem like the character has a steep basis in race, and I always wonder why some of these sistas ain’t taking these roles. I used to think it was the industry till I started seeing foreign black female actors and actresses doing these roles.

Maybe her obsession with per perception is a bigger part of her money problem.

Yes she has taken those roles on. One was posted right above this post. Also...sometimes those other roles aren't offered, as has been confirmed by many Black and white folks in Hollywood. So you can't go after what you don't even know exists. That's why some actors publicly come out and say they don't want roles written specifically only for Black people once they do get some success. And some people hate hearing that but in context it does make some sense.

Fam, the studios give the listing and scrips to the agencies. If she’s not getting listings from what’s come in. She needs to either hire someone to actively get listings from studios or change agencies. I know you want this to be outside of her control entirely but it’s not. She just wants things to be one way cause of her seniority in black film.

No, he got the job because of other black men looking out and his talent. And yes it's a great credit to his name. He even getting producer credit.

His people looked out and reached out.

How much is an aging supporting actress who’s alright supposed to garner?
