Why is supporting black owned businesses so difficult sometimes?

I never see Chinese people or any Asian nationality ethnicity go inside the Chinese store. Maybe PF Changs or a big Asian fancy restaurant. But local restaurants and hood spots, you never see any Asian people.

Mans really has a point here. If they won't shop with us, why are we quick to shop with them???

The corner he's standing on is 7Mile and Livernois. A whooooole lotta Black businesses up and down Livernois from there. I used to live around the way from here. Used to be at the China shop just north of where he's standing coppin bootleg clothes and gold plated 2-3 finger gold rings and playing Twin Cobra after school. A block away down 7 mile was Buy Rite Records where I copped tapes and vinyl all the time.

 
I try to support black owned business back in my hometown, but the owners makes it difficult from lack of being available, lack of business acumen or both. Plus poor marketing. Example, this girl opened a restaurant about 4 years ago. She was extremely inconsistent with her days and hours. Sometimes she was opened, sometimes she closed it because she catered to a company. Whenever she decides to open her spot, it was always via a FB message. Sometimes, I think she think to herself, "I might open my spot today? 🤔....Yeah I'mma open it to kill some time today" Plus, she didn't have a website. You had to go to her social media to look at her menu and find out what she was cooking. Another thing was she didn't have a business page. If you didn't know who was the owner, then you wouldn't be able to find her restaurant. After 4 years, she closed it to focus on catering.

I still support black own businesses but back in my hometown. Sometimes it's difficult because some of the owners at some of them doesn't take it serious

Same. The prices were reasonable compared to the food portions, and the drinks were mixed perfectly with a lil umph to them. The live band dope and then the DJ finished off the night. Overall, a complete vibe.

My complaints and critiques come from a place of tough love. I really want our people to do better. Be fair, reasonable, realistic, and courteous with pricing and customer service. Because when we get it right, we get it right 💯

The bolded is spot on. I want to see us doing it big in our neighborhoods but in order for that to happen we gotta do right by our customers and they gotta be willing to patronize us without jealousy in their hearts.

lol I mean it's not even a high bar they gotta meet with the customer service. Every black community has a bunch of Asian owned business that most of the people frequent and often get treated like crap. You'd think other black people would be able to do better than that.
 
I mean shit, I know the family that just opened up a corner store in my neighborhood, and I go there first for everything now.
