OPINION What are your thoughts about designer brands now China has ruined the allure

whats funny is this popped on my reddit feed and i was exploring. So they got chinese apps you order from by a chinese agent. You have the agent buy from the factories, ship to the agent then the agent to you. I only did liek 1 day of research but people showing designer brand deals they got with pics and everything soo.........
What’s the plug?

I thought this was pretty common knowledge that the bulk of these so called “designer” items are made in China factories for a fraction of the cost then sold for huge profit margins.. but I guess until its on this TikTok thing nobodies aware.

Probably 90% made there then shipped to whatever country for the 10% to be finished and so it can get that “made in ___ tag”. Wouldn’t doubt it if thats what happens with made in USA products as well.. take advantage of the loopholes then sell for a huge profit and a reason theres so many knockoffs of whatever product for a fraction of the cost w/o the logo. They take advantage of average Joes patriotism and go after his wallet.

China said fuck it took over the block and selling for the low

They aren’t cut out completely. It’s kinda hard to do. But because a lot of my shit was stolen and replicated( a dude showed me a product that looked like mine on Amazon)…… I try to do things a bit different. i source from different companies and put it together elsewhere. It’s a waste of money and time to be honest. . But Kenya is a fast becoming a tech hub. I recommend investing there in the future. Companies been moving from China to Vietnam.
I mentioned this a few years back.

Dealing with China is not good. Especially being a black American. But I do get to go to the trade shows to see all the new shit.

And for you @Inori look into the solar window film matched with a dewalt battery. No more solar panels. Shit stores like a week or so of power.

I just don’t like that’s it’s lithium.

There's a Black woman, Rachel Stewart, that used to post on another message board some years ago. She makes African- inspired jewelry, some of which landed with some pretty big names like Nelly Furtado, Beyonce's band the Suga Mamas, etc. She explained to us about how her shit was being bootlegged by the Chinese, I forget how it happened (I'm trying to find it), but apparently her stuff got popular enough that the Chinese came in and made knockoffs of her stuff and it started popping up on Chinese sites like Alibaba, etc. According to her it started out as finding out once or twice a year to weekly. At one point she was debating on whether she was even going to remain in business.

(found it)

She's still up and running: https://rachelstewartjewelry.com/

This is an article from 2015 where she discusses it.

I’m legit taken back that people didn’t know this.
I explained this twice

I don't think most people don't know it's the fact that for the first time the Chinese government is allowing the chinese people to muddy the waters and give access to these items.

Nah, I'm not talking about that part of it. I'm talking more on the marketing end. If China is trying to transition people from those expensive brands to their own Faux shit, and army of influencers would be instrumental in making that happen.
There are already a bunch of influencers who peddle stuff from the fence aka dhgate who have pounced on this.

The timing couldn't come at a worse time for high end fashion houses because there is now this trend of influencers (especially over in the EU) denouncing buying designer handbags and the ongoing complaint of higher price points yet the quality has gone down.

Yeah people discovering capitalism in 2025 is really something
There are not just discovering it. They are using China to say f the white man.

But go to any restaurant, use you phone, you car and the home you live it(if you didn’t build it yourself) everyone makes a profit.

But it’s rules to this.

Man they steal everything.
They build on stolen tech.
Byd cars are built off stolen Tesla tech( fuck Elon, it’s not his ideas)
Them bags, stolen designs.

There is minimal innovation from China. But they are doing it to benefit themselves which I respect. But if you get got by them outside a reliable source to save money, your shit is gone.
You look at it as only $50 but $50 times 1000 is a lot.

Shit is crazy.

I fought for three months for some shit once…..

they know their time is coming, that’s why they are trying yo buddy up with Southeast Asia now.
But India and Mexico are places to take production and manufacturing to also.

i got new next level shit coming. Hopefully I can get a few years before they steal that.

Should be ready in a couple months. Dm me if you want to test it.

Whats good Tay.

I need to chat with you about something.

Lastly

China is now the middle man.

Don’t be fooled. Africa plays a major part in this.

Don’t let clowns distract you from my message.

It’s money to be made and they don’t know to tell you how to get it but can create confusion and fuck shit.

Africa is the future. Trust me.

Have I not made you niggas money already?

When I was telling negroes this I was a broke hater but let the Chinese say it

The foul shit is that it really wasn't even a secret anymore 'cause there's been plenty of articles on the shit over the years; niggas just chose to ignore it. I'm pretty sure the shit was even posted up back in the IC, likely by me.
