Maybe I'm the confused one, but I'm noticing a trend of constantly bringing up people who either bash Democrats, openly expressed their refusal to support Democrats, and people who feel like Republicans and Democrats are two sides of one coin. This trend only proves the anti-Democrats right in their sentiment that Democrats (so-called at least) care more about the narrative than the issue.

You can't convince me that the Democrats are a saving grace when they had twelve years to be that, only, instead to set the table for what Republicans are taking advantage of now. The current Democratic party is not a Left wing party for the people. They use people issues to concentrate power towards their chosen ranks. They are still racists, sexist, and practice classism. We ("bothersiders") know the Nazis are in the White House, but those who support the current Democratic party are blind to the fact that they never left.

I don’t think anyone is saying democrats are saviors of the people or anything like that. We, or I at least, are saying that republicans are worse than democrats, particularly when it comes to black people.

Just look at that post previously about HUD. There was a policy put in place by democrats meant to support black people in getting homes. They’re rolling that back.

And they’re using DEI to suggest black people (and others) are not competent to basically reinstate discriminatory hiring practices.

No it's being used against people who think the Democratic party would be out here passing policies like "End DEI in public schools", firing people who control critical things in this country, and dismantling things like medicare that actually helps people with an unelected private citizen taking the lead on these things like they're the elected president and throwing up nazi salutes calling it "roman". It's not a defense of Democrats as much as it's calling out people who think they'd be doing the exact same thing because it allows them to never actually have a real opinion to stand on.

You can't both sides your way out of racism. But it's easy for people who aren't Black to pull that because these decisions and rhetoric don't affect them. So they can sit from the sidelines and comment because it won't hit them as hard because they're not Black.

What I was going to say, already has been said. I'll just add, while I do understand a certain level of cynicism when it comes to politics and the 2 main political parties. And I'm all for constructive criticism and holding these people accountable.

And yeah, I know we have contrarians, especially black folks who want to feel special by placing themselves in opposition of whatever they see as "popular with the massive". They'll say whatever they think will assure their "individuality". They stand for nothing. Untrustworthy.

But in this day & age for any one to honestly STILL say "both parties are the same" when you CONSTANTLY see one party:
REPUBLICANS voting AGAINST racial equal opportunity, gender equality, jobs bills , raising the minimum wage, improving education, healthcare reform, criminal justice reform, prison reform, gun control reform, voting to cut Medicare, Medicaid,social security, housing assistance,SNAP programs etc.etc.

And yet, somehow , they still trying to convince a well read, objective, rational minded fella with common fuckin' sense such myself,
that "both parties are the same". I not only question a person's intelligence & knowledge on political matters, but also their integrity & sanity.

I can see a huge class action lawsuit coming from all of these people fired without cause. A judge ruled the firings were likely illegal. It will probably go to the Supreme Court, and if they agree, which is a big question mark, the government (us) is about to pay more in settlements than it would have just keeping the people.
 


This facist press secretary is supposedly only 27 but looks more closer to 47.
