That's kind of weird take for this movie.

It doesn't seem like a white savior theme at all. In fact, the white dude doesn't seem like the savior at all. I'm betting the black girl will end up being the hero or at least the main reason the white dude becomes the hero.

White savior movies have to have some indigneous or minority group being saved by the white person right? That doesn't really seem to be the case here.
 
Great movie. My little girl has the same hair as the main character so she was loving that.

This definitely wasn’t the white savior type movie. If anything the little girl outmatched the guy who was set up to be the white hero in the beginning. She was the hero in this. He came off as incompetent given the changing dynamics.
