The Official MCU Thread

Classically...DC was always winning and setting industry standards

Christopher Reeves Superman proved the movies could be done

Michael Keaton proved they could be dark

Watch men and Chris Nolan Batman proved they could be 2+ hour epics...

Marvel proved with which care and handling you can build a universe and create crisis level comic events on screen...

It was a game changer.... But not the first by a long shot....

Just the best so far as development of comics on film.... And the first time marvel was way in the lead as far as movies

But again dc has always been classically better. And it's only a matter of time before they hit a stride with the shared universe.

And if you are skeptical on what they're capable of, you have to look no further than their animated content... Which is way better than marvel's

And the Netflix vs arrowverse is almost even.... Cuz the cross over events on CW shit alllllll over the one defender series...

I think this batgirl character might be a home run...

From the animated movie bad blood, the comic stories, and the casting choice.... They really got a winner here.

The only missteps take imo is the shared movie universe, and with the stories they got on deck, it's only a matter of time

The CW shits too long and get campy af

Defenders might not be one of the best offerings but, 10-12 episodes>> 23

Plus because those shows come on CW, they have to do those weekly cliffhangers and most of them leave me more annoyed vs anticipating the next week's show

Trash movies

Thor 2
Thor 3
Ironman 2
Ironman 3
Antman and Wasp
First Avenger

The only Good movies are
GoG 1&2
Winter Solider
Civil War
Spiderman
All Avengers

The rest are extremely Meh
especially Black Panther and Dr. Strange

The meh movies are forgetfully meh
iron man 3 was cold af tho. and Thor ragnorak was cold til they added no ass Tessa T.

Also knowing that Rogue wrecks Captain marvel in the comics, and it'll prolly never happen in the movies is kinda disheartening....

Kinda like how we'll never get that Storm / BP wedding....

These are iconic comic moments, that even though Marvel is doing a lot right... They may never get these ones right...

The fantastic 4 and X-Men were painfully absent from infinity war...

Venom gets a Spiderman-less movie, that while I really wanna see... No Spiderman is nuts.... And motivation for a lot of people not to care...

They bout to retire Captain America so we'll never get that Cap/Cyclops stare down from the avengers vs X-Men storyline....

Marvel far from perfect.... But they doing pretty good right now

Your quibbles are only because of the short sightedness they had initially

I'm lead to believe if they don't sell those properties off, the mcu looks vastly different thank it looks today

I legit love all the CW shows...

The campyness is straight out the comics. And they've influenced the likeness of multiple comic characters...

Which is a great thing....

Felicity smoke, Cisco, and a few others were nothing like they were in the comics on CW.... But they do such a great job, they changed the comics versions these characters (because they're such small characters in the comics) and made them fit their tv counter parts.

DC stay doing this too.....

Harley Quinn was created on TV and came to the comics later ..

Basically what I'm saying is CW arrowverse show is doing such a great job with small characters on TV that it influences and makes them bigger in the comics...

Netflix ain't make that kinda impact yet

They might, but I'm just pointing out they not perfect and it's very possible the best has already been done... And we may never get another classic comic moment like that snap from marvel...

They even casually under played the planet hulk movie in thor Ragnarok.

Hulk is one of Marvel's biggest characters, and he's been so mismansged, he'll never get the stand alone movie he deserves. They fucked up the first two. And they playing out his best storylines in the avengers movies....

I also think by the time this comes out, she's gonna seem forced.

People wanted a good wonder woman.... They grew up watching Linda Carter...

Wonder woman is essential to Justice league.

No one really cared or wanted Captain Marvel. They have to create interest.

I still think a better induction would be to bring in rogue.

Rogue was a stand out in the comics and in The animated series.... Way more popular than Captain marvel....
And since she gets her iconic strength from Captain marvel...I think using her to bring in Rogue would have been a much better use of the character.

They can use Adam warlock to take thanos down... They already teased him in guardians

After successfully introducing GotG, Ant-Man and Black Panther(who was clamoring for movies from these characters), on the heels of making B- list heroes household names, are we really questioning Marvel's moves?

I have a hard time believing that this movie will be any kind of "low point" for Marvel. Not if recent track record means anything. And did you see the trailer?

Yea I saw it several times

Looks good, I just don't see the long term run with Captain Marvel.

This supposed to be the next phase and they putting a lot on this character. I just don't see it...

Lets cut the fuckin shit.. we all know Iron Fist is the lowest point for Marvel... followed closely by Inhumans.

None of them shits really tie into the movies so they good lol. Where movies are concerned Thor Dark world is by far the worst...still a watchable movie

shrug.gif

@atribecalledGabi i was in complete agreement with you as far as how this shit finna do but we can still bet for fun if you like lol

You're moving the goalposts. What does a long term run, or even the next phase, have to do with this movie. Your stance has been that this movie will be a "low point" for Marvel. I don't understand how you can still believe this after that trailer. Hell, I don't know why you thought it to begin with.

Got damn! You dislike Iron Fist that much. Lower than Inhumans? Damn.

The chances of this movie being worse than Dark World are about as good as the chances of the Heat winning the championship this season.

Antman and guardians brought in a list star power to push those movies...

Even if the characters were small, people knew the actors.

This is a new actor and a new character.

I just don't see people rallying behind this with as much anticipation as other marvel movies...

I'm not moving goal posts there are a bunch of reasons...
