The Official MCU Thread

Yeah i was hoping they would kind of expand Glover's role in Spiderman. Wont be mad if he's featured in more movies though. For a lot of folks im sure theyll be confused seeing Glover play 2 characters in the MCU, but if the new character hes going to play is something thats full CGI or something i'm sure that would work out.

Heres an article with a tad bit more info:

'Black Panther 2': Donald Glover Reportedly in Talks for New Role, Michael B. Jordan Return Possible

After Black Panther shattered expectations earlier this year, it looks as though director Ryan Coogler is going above and beyond in his planning of the film's sequel, and courting some big names to join the franchise's ranks.

Sources close to Metro UK are reporting that Coogler has been in "informal talks" with actor/producer/musician Donald Glover for a role in Black Panther 2.

"Ryan Coogler is currently mapping out Black Panther's sequel and has written in a number of new characters that movie-goers will be introduced to when it premieres," one source says. "One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by Childish Gambino [Glover's musical moniker]. Nothing is set in stone, but 'informal talks' [are happening] between Ryan, Gambino, and reps from Marvel and Disney to see if they can make it happen."

If this does come to fruition, it will be yet another hit Disney project for Glover, who is starring in this weekend's Solo: A Star Wars Story as young Lando Calrissian, a role made famous by Billy Dee Williams. Glover is also voicing Simba in Jon Favreau's upcoming live action adaptation ofThe Lion King.

Glover and Coogler already have a close working relationship, as Donald and his brother Stephen were consultants to Coogler on the first Black Panther script.

In addition to Glover's appearance, the source noted that the powers that be have been considering a possible return for Michael B. Jordan as the popular villain Erik Killmonger.

"They're still yet to decide if Michael B. Jordan will return in some capacity," the source noted, "but if he doesn't it's likely Gambino may play some kind of villain."

While comic characters return from the dead more often than we'd like to admit, and Killmonger has resurrected in the comic books, it seems unlikely that Coogler would actually bring him back for the film's sequel, considering how profound and important his death was at the end of the first Black Panther. The more likely scenario is that Killmonger appears in some sort of flashback or scene in the Ancestral Plane.

Regardless of how or when they appear, both Glover and Jordan are extraordinary talents, and Marvel fans would love to see them involved in Black Panther 2.

I hope glovers plays Achebe and would it be too much to ask to have kraven the hunter as a minor villain? Anybody who's read the 90s comic book would know where I'm going with this

It really depends on what they do with A4. People are assuming they will undo what happened in IW, but I'm not so sure. What if there is a 2-5 year time skip and then they bring people back? Shuri could be ruler of Wakanda at that point, which would free T'chala up for stories that don't have to revolve around Wakanda.

Going back and wathcing Cap. America WS. Black widow a mf. Shawti been catching bodies. That first scene of WS when she and Cap clear the boat is arguably Marvel's best live action scene.

On top of that she gave WS a problem for a hot second. He had to gone get on her ass. Not with the same hostility he gave Cap moments later. But I'd argue, hypothetically speaking of course, 1 out of 5 times BW could kill WS. She just too savvy to not catch him slipping at least once.

I just watched again too. She was fine as fuck in that movie. Maybe the best she's ever looked.

lol The funny thing is that Hela didn't say anything about her mother the whole time. Assuming, Odin's wife was her mother, Hela didn't know she was dead.

Odin's wife frya isn't Thor's biological mother neither was she hela's . hela is older than Thor and Loki. BTW I don't see the point in changing the story of hela being Loki's daughter and instead making them siblings. What difference would it have made?

The comic lore is really fuckin weird for a movie being marketed worldwide, so I get it.

In the U.S. alone, a movie about a male villain giving birth to an even more evil female is a can of social issue worms Disney definitely would not want to open.

I'm just curious if Frigga was Hela's mother in the MCU.

What you're saying is true for the comics. I don't think its true for the MCU.
