BLACK EXCELLENCE!

Jose Mourinho 'never wanted Fred' at Man United and only accepted £52m midfielder out of fear club would not sign anyone else

Jose Mourinho was reportedly against Manchester United signing Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk last year.

The now departed manager did not want the club to splash out £52million on the Brazilian, who is yet to impress at Old Trafford.

Mourinho was given plenty of flak for signing Fred but in reality never wanted the central midfielder, according to The Athletic.

Lol Mourinho trying to rewrite history on this flop....or nah?

There’s conflicting stories out there

When has Utd signed players without the managers input?

I’m inclined to think he wanted Fred. Even if it was cause he thought nobody else would be coming.

Lvg said at united you give a list of players you
Want in every position then ed picks the last option on the list and wants you to compete.

I was waiting for you to be suspicious of this because not long you posted an article from the Athletic and promoted it as the holy grail because they recruited all the sports journalist.

I think he probably handed a list of players to united and they thought Fred was a cheaper adequate option for the players he wanted

We will prolly never know the truth about most of the situations and conversations surrounding manager and chairmen completing transfers...

But I doubt you hand in a list of players you want and Ed always goes for the worst/cheapest one lol

Why is that so unrealistic? Same thing happened to Conte only managers who get who they want are pep and klopp because they are MANAGERS everyone else are first team coach united pretend they're managers but Moyes lvg and Jose openly moaning to the press about players they want states otherwise plus they have said the structure at united isn't as it seems

Im saying the process, manageer goes right here is my list and Ed goes 'right who is worst and cheapest'??? lol

Ed spend a 100mill on Pobga, a fortune on Luakau and AWB and also broke the world record on Maguire, he is hardly reluctant to spend...

Nah don’t get me wrong... based on the amount of playing time he got under Jose makes me think he didn’t want him.

But he didn’t stop the deal either. What’s the point in buying a player you won’t use or think is good enough?

He didn’t once say you wasting £50m on a player I don’t rate and will rarely use?

Since Jose so vocal about everything else I find it hard to believe he just ‘went with the flow’ with no input at all.
