Because this is an impossible conversation to have. Drake literally made his legacy in an era where everything regarding metrics was constantly changing, to include what those metrics mean.

Yall want to prop dude up like he met the standards of yesteryear, when in actuality he wouldn’t even have been signed during an era of pure/raw talent, also due to its talent size.

Just ain’t no way, because yall always wanna go “that metric don’t mean that no more”

That ain’t a conversation, that’s 18 post of niggas saying “that can’t count for Drake”

an entire fan base happy their artist took the easy route.

Weirdest shit I ever witnessed.

Again. Immediately downplaying and moving the goalposts because you dislike an artist.

Im not trying to change yall minds about how you feel about drake.

I simply said yes FANS are going to be the core group of people that consider an artist the goat. And if you dislike an artist or their music you most likely won't consider them the goat.

Why are you guys flipping out?

:hahaha:

I'ma push back slightly

Drake would've definitely gotten signed. I just don't think it would've been as a rapper or rather it wouldn't have been the rapper that we know today

Comeback season is one of my favorite mixtapes. I think his trajectory would've been that kind of rapper vs the 6 God Boogeyman

I'm not a NaS fan or a Tupac fan (I like Jay and BIG more) but I still consider them goats 🤷🏾‍♂️

Then you're not having the same conversation. We're not talking about who you consider to be in the running or amongst them we're talking about who you consider to be THE goat.

yea that fits your argument better, but I've rarely heard a discussion about who's the definitive best. the argument is pretty much always top 5

that creates enough division, and most people can't keep it to 5

Yeah Drake definitely would've gotten signed back in the day. Especially when you see some of the artist that used to get a push.

The funny thing about the whole top 5 thing is people who refuse to change it. Like some people feel married to it and think it's permanent. My favorite rapper has changed as I got older and I always look at it kinda funny if somebody has had the same favorite rappers as they did when they were like 15 and now theyre 40.

Why tho

One Because after a while everyone having the same rappers in different order just seems performative and like a preplanned answer. Also as you get older I'd expect a person to have evolved some. And with that would come am evolution of what speaks to you as well. Not saying there's not still any enjoyment with things you 1st lacth onto...but if you have no evolution in the things you take in over several decades then that just reads as stagnant to me. Especially if there's been little to no current output
