Bipartisan Senate Intel report backs intelligence assessment of 2016 Russian interference

The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday released its review of a joint assessment issued by U.S. intelligence agencies of Russia's coordinated campaign to influence the 2016 presidential election. The review is the fourth and penultimate chapter resulting from the committee's more than three-year investigation into the Russian government's actions.

Among the findings that proved to be more controversial over time was the accompanying assessment that the Russian government's efforts were designed to boost then-candidate Donald Trump's chances of winning the election while damaging Hillary Clinton's. That judgment was delivered with high confidence by the CIA and FBI; the NSA had moderate confidence.



In its heavily redacted 158-page report, the committee found that the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) commissioned by former President Barack Obama in late 2016 "presents a coherent and well-constructed intelligence basis for the case of unprecedented Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election." The report was unanimously approved by senators on the committee.

"The ICA reflects strong tradecraft, sound analytical reasoning, and proper justification of disagreement in the one analytical line where it occurred," Republican Senator Richard Burr, the committee chairman, said in a statement accompanying the report's release. "The Committee found no reason to dispute the Intelligence Community's conclusions."



A declassified version of the ICA — which was compiled by the CIA, FBI, National Security Agency (NSA) and Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and is otherwise highly classified — was released publicly on January 6, 2017.



The ICA's principal finding, delivered with "high confidence," was that Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered an influence campaign aimed at the 2016 election and designed to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral process.
 
Do y’all see the types of things that are becoming “partisan” in this environment.

Republicans would LITERALLY sacrifice your life and the lives of your loved ones if it means that the 1% can preserve their stock market gains, and not have their wealth taxed. I mean right now they are actively trying to do just that.

This is why we have to look beyond what Republicans will “agree to” - their leaders are the epitome of corruption and their constituents are brainwashed morons.

We have to look to the people and policies that actually represent working people. The lens of partisanship should only be considered in so much that it furthers those goals.
 
Look it man,..the real problem behind all of this is racism

Trump is untouchable because of the racist base that supports him is the thickness in the base that supports the GOP

Even if there are GOP member thats know better, it would be throwing their political career away at standing up to him..everyone but Mitt Romney and that's because of the electorate of the state he is senator of, has the same wacky religion as him..

But white people have to deal with their internal racism problem and stop looking for black people to save them from themselves. Black people always have to be the one to save people from racist white folks and what do we get..

An Adam and Eve to be propped up for two years..made mega stars, ate off of, and no one else can eat until the white populace is done with them. That's our reward for saving them from theirselves

Here is an opportunity to say..nah..do that shit urself, fail..and when you realize our value..come back better

When obama was suggesting policies that helped folk from bottom to middle, all of the white folks in the democratic party that were afraid of losing the racist white vote all of a sudden became moderates. And coined the term blue dog Democrats. All of a sudden theres "fiscally responsible" dems because of the "fiscally responsible" tea party.

That was whites not dealing with their mans..and even as obama didnt accomplished what he could accomplished in his first term when black folks saved white folks from themselves.

Black folks saved white folks from themselves by coming out for obama again.

Black folks ain't save white folks from themselves wit hiliary and Trump is what they got..

So what white folks do in response when barbie lost ?

love when white people reference twitter derisively as if these folk dont live in the real world... when its more accurate than "polling"

and people always reference polling as some measure of reality...
