Post Malone cant stop culturevulturing

Nah Son

Legion of Trill
Rapper Post Malone has been on the receiving end of some backlash on social media for some recent comments he made during an interview with GQ. During his conversation with the magazine, Post Malone noted his "struggle being a white rapper," and many have not taken kindly to the remark.

The 22-year-old performer has worked with artists including Kanye West and Justin Bieber, GQ pointed out, but he contended he feels "like there's a struggle being a white rapper." He made the statement after the magazine questioned: "Do you, Post Malone, ever feel anxious about working in a primarily black-identified genre of music?"

Post then expanded on his statement saying: "But I don’t want to be a rapper. I just want to be a person that makes music, I make music that I like and I think that kicks *ss, that I think the people who f*ck with me as a person and as an artist will like.” He agreed with further questioning in the interview that "it's political to be a black rapper" and "that there are separate struggles that go along with race."

Since the interview was posted some on social media have pointed out the problematic nature of his comments. Responses range from incredulous to anger. Others questioned how Post can make the statement given some believe he "steals from culture" and has been well received on music charts.

Mf really said "its a struggle being a white rapper" lmao I'm done

This dude a legit hip hop hater who stays shitting on the culture every chance he gets

All that after using it as a platform to become a household name. Shit is disgusting

I mean, it is one of the few fields where they don’t automatically have a leg up. Can’t help but feel like my outrage could be better used on something else.

This is like when Chanel Westcoast told CthaG that he didnt know her "struggle" as a female white rapper.

The look on his face and sterling's and rob's said it all.

like there's a struggle being a white rapper

But I don’t want to be a rapper.

White people (and Mexicans, oddly enough) love this fuckboy. They'll go outta their way to defend his bullshit.

White people are annoying, however, and this is just par for the course.

This nigga's debut album is double platinum and White Iverson is 4x platinum as a single SMMFH. Black people aren't buying your albums but white kids are.

Btw the shit Post Malone does is where hiphhip music is going.... more and more non black artists are gonna copy his formula.....
This type of music needs its own category. Separate it from hip hop.

He's successful because his young fan base doesnt care about him stealing the culture. But I tell you one thing in one or two years max dude will have gone full rock or country like he was in his teens

Just like Kid Rock who pretended to be hip hop and got comfortable enough to use the n-word in a room full of rappers. Last I heard from him he was singing redneck songs and rocking the confederate flag

When non blacks come into black culture and do things like this it’s a red flag. This is one of the problems with black people, don’t ignore the red flag you nip it in the bud before it becomes a monster you no longer can contain.

Though I do think there is room for subcultures/categories of hip hop IF its done the right way (technically there already is with trap, conscious, gangsta etc)... Run DMC made the step over with rock/hip hop with Aerosmith back in 80s, so its nothing new... Even Beastie Boys and Jay's 'Problems'...

Ice-T even went extra with Hip Hop/Metal, which Im not a fan of but its another example of growth of hip hop

So imo its natural hip hop would grow, and as long its roots stand strong I dont mind different variations of hip hop... The only country/hip hop mix that Ive heard and like is 'Struggle Jennings', his granddad was Waylon Jennings... Other than that I dont think Ive heard an actual country/hip hop song, just country rappers Rich Boy and Riitz etc

I say rappers that ain’t in a certain life they rap about is vultures too.

Fuck post Malone
