The reveal felt like they had already had something better set up but then VKM decided he wanted to insert himself as the leader at the last minute.

The original Higher Power was supposed to be Christopher Daniels surprisingly in his early ROH Fallen Angel gimmick. Vince saw him in person and canceled it because he thought he was too short and booked himself instead.

They definitely stopped something. I mean, you can tell from a production standpoint. Remember the one cuts going from one segment to the next?

Jey winning and running through the crowd. You like, yea aight coo. But then the camera stays on him walking through the fans, shoving one lol, all the way til he gets outside and runs into Sami outside in the freezing cold. Then Sami breaking the fourth wall and going completely crazy back through the same fans into the ring.

That’s just one example of the shift. Like TKO stepped in and said “ no one likes this shit and it cost too much money” or some shit. Idk man
 


“Non-cannon” matches??? The audience isn’t gonna forget if Punk & Oba have a match so why not try to at least plant seeds & make future storylines outta these?? Just in case when folks get called up there’s already a built in angle to work with….
 
For those who are asking about this, Netflix is not purchasing the linear channels owned by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD). Those channels will be spun off into a new, separate publicly traded company known as Discovery Global.

Among those linear channels are TBS and TNT, which carry AEW programming - as well as CNN, The Discovery Channel, HGTV, The Food Network, etc.

Discovery Global will also retain the ownership of Bleacher Report (which at one point streamed AEW PPVs) and the Discovery+ streaming service.

Netflix will, however, acquire HBO Max, which currently streams AEW PPVs and has AEW content as part of its current streaming library. Where the rights to AEW in terms of streaming lands when the purchase process is completely, remains to be seen but one would assume it would remain unchanged through AEW's current contractual agreements with WBD at the time they came to terms.

Blockbuster screwed Hollywood.
