COMMUNITY Non- Black Women Wearing Black Women Hairstyle

Everybody on this planet is capable of having straight hair. That's what combs are for. It's not a cultural trait. Our hair is versatile we can do virtually anything and our shit bounce back long as it's done safely.

Hair treatment is cultural tho. That's why white ppl that get box braids, corn rows and locs and shit look stupid cuz they scalps literally ain't made for it and they hair falls out after doing it.

Why would anybody that is Black and surrounded by nothing but Black people get the idea to have straight hair when our hair naturally isn't straight? Nobody in pre-European contact walked around with straight hair. Most of our popular hairstyles in the 30s came were inspired by White people hair.

And doesn't straight hair down a Black person's back or something like a conk look stupid when our hair naturally don't do that. It don't even stay straight when it gets hot.

A French White man invented the straightening comb to straighten curly White people hair. He didn't make it for Black folks. In theory, it's silly.
