Following the massive opening weekend of Dune Part 2, Rebecca Ferguson is zeroing in on her next big feature as she is set to star alongside Chris Pratt in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming feature Mercy, which will be released in theaters worldwide as the studio has high expectations on the film.
Timur Bekmambetov is directing the sci-fi thriller from a script penned by Marco van Belle. The project came to Amazon MGM Studios from Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning producer Charles Roven, who received a second Academy Award nomination for Best Picture most recently on Oppenheimer. Roven is producing Mercy with Atlas Entertainment SVP Robert Amidon alongside Bekmambetov’s BEL banner and film producer Majd Nassif. The film is targeting a spring start-of-production.
Set in the near future when capital crime has increased, Mercy follows a detective (Chris Pratt) who is accused of a violent crime and forced to prove his innocence.
