Every time I hear shorty from Blackening talk I just wanna hear her say

"Kill yourself nigga!"

😭🤣🤣

on episode 2. Yahya and Kingsley play well off of each other so far in this. Im fuckin wit it
It's kinda like Barry where they deliberately over acting because of their jobs as actors...
. And the long shots are crazy

Love whole season drops that just let you binge

The scene where the cast and set are tired of him trying to change the lines was funny. Though it was messed up they went and got him cut it was lol

Loved the scene where he said you know i can understand you when they were talking in a different language lmao

There was no reaction to him destroying the kitchen island from everyone besides "what the hell simon"? I call bullshit on that. That wouldn't get ignored or brushed aside. That was probably my only grip about the show

"Starting salary is 200k+benefits" "yea that'll work" lol dude liked his lax and easy life but then handed that and dipped

Lol at using the line "dingdong motherfucker"

The banter between them is pretty funny even though he was lying to Simon the whole time. Making up was interesting. I guess that could go either way. Though I'd lean more towards someone cutting that person out of their life
This was better overall than I was expecting

I started it last night and stopped at ep3 I'll finish it tonight or tomorrow. As a comic nerd his backstory is a jumbled mess of bullshit so them changing it up a little is not too bad for a comic purist like myself.

For those who didn't know Simon was a like the anti-version of Tony Starks. His dad left him a company similar to Starks. He fucked it up and lost everything and lost billions. Then he got tangled up with Loki and the Enchantress he got powers and became Wonder Man he was strong as the Hulk. He died and his brain waves was used to help create Vision. He used to smash Wanda and Capt Marvel. He's been killed off multiple times and his backstory has been changed multiple times.

His brother is a supervillain who at one point had the power to kill people with a touch or bring dead people back to life and make them do whatever he wanted them to do. His name was/is the Grim Reaper. DC sued Marvel for the name Wonder Man because it was too close to Wonder Woman and if I remember correctly that's why they killed him off the first couple of times.

Basically before Sentry there was Wonder Man and he was Marvel's Superman but do to the lawsuits Marvel created Hyperion who's basically Superman but for Marvel. He used to fly with jet packs until he realized he could fly without them. He quit the Avengers to become a stuntman and actor. Got killed off again and now he's pacifist or dead can't remember.

I'm being lazy, but wasn't he in West Coast Avengers? I was never really a fan of The Avengers comics back inna day, but I had a few issues and I swear I remember him being in the West Coast Avengers.

I enjoyed that this was less about the larger mcu, powers and destruction and more about the characters themselves

Yeah he was in West Coast Avengers, Force Works and him and Beast are best friends

Never thought I'd ever see Doorman in a MCU movie or series but I'll be damn they had homie in this.

Doorman is character from a comedic version of the Avengers called the Great Lakes Avengers. The group had characters with lame powers but low-key all their powers was powerful but they didn't know it

This shit hella meta...

It's like MCU Barry, it's all about the acting and character development. .

There's going to be a lotta deep dives into this show over the next few weeks.... They did some heavy duty lifting with very little action

Part buddy comedy, mix in some sci fi and drama and that's this version of Wonder Man. I actually enjoyed portions of the series and going in i knew the series was going to steer clear of the complicated, traumatic and violent parts of the characters history in Marvel comics. It's disappointing that the series didnt delve into what makes up Wonder Man's/Simon
Williams psyche. Also that one of my favorite actresses Olivia Thirlby time in the series was very brief There are bright spots in the series Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Ben Kingsley make a good onscreen team and share some great moments together. I actually couldnt help rooting for the characters. I enjoyed the humor about Hollywood, acting, eccentric directors, movie theatre etiquette and the dark humor about how fame can be fleeting, and how what's new can be fascinating for awhile but then it's on to the next big thing. Im glad the episodes were only about 30 minutes long a couple of them felt like drawn out, silly, wastes of time.
Not sure if there will be a season two but i do wonder what they will do if it happens.
