COMING SOON Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls (8/6) *Beta Open*

Added to Calendar: 08-06-26

Okay I understand this better now

The game isn’t as messy as I thought

It’s the main fighter and 3 support but you can make anyone the main fighter and they all share the same health bar

Not bad

I wasn't sure. Played the training segment and I'm sold. This game is dope. I believe it will be like MvC in that once some people really get good, matches between good players and "ok" players will look like bloodbaths. That said, the way the game is set up, its very easy to do a lot of cool looking stuff.

Game is dope. The beta alleviated most of my worries. The only negative I stick with is the roster is too small for a 4v4 game. It seems like every match is against someone whose team is at least half the same as mine.

What made me feel better is the beta doesn’t have the full roster of fighters and You have the option of using as many fighters as you want

If there is a star lord, Doom, black panther, Wolverine team against a team of Wolverine , black panther, magneto and Doom, the player from the first team could just main star lord the entire time and use the other characters for assists while the 2nd team could lead with Wolverine but swap them out to use doom and then use the other characters as assists throughout

So it atleast offers optionality despite two teams having fighters on both

Or either could just solely use the leader

Like rarely will a good player swap between all 4 characters in a single match

I may explore it down the line. Between this and Street Fighter, the tiny rosters keep me away.

They're not comparable. Street Fighter 6's roster never felt small to me, even at launch. It's a 1v1 game, and the characters are interesting and balanced enough that you do see a variety of different opponents.

@John Shippuden is right in that depending how you play, you're not going to have many mirror matches. Your team composition may be similar, but your point character can be different. That said, it still feels like you're seeing the same people all the time. That will change a little with release and the missing characters, and moreso with the first DLC season. I think it will be a couple years before the variety seems sufficient.

I kinda take back what I said a bit

Because the more you fight the more convoluted it’s going to be with the characters assembling and I do think you’re going to see a lot of characters a lot

I think my biggest gripe is the auto combos

Which arcsys adopted from DB fighterz but it’s a bit more noticeably annoying this time

I do think this would’ve been better as a 2 on 2 but idk because there’s 25 characters available by the time the first DLC drops and in theory that should be enough

I don't mind the auto combos as much. They basically give lower level players the opportunity to do cool things without having perfect execution. There are still more options for more advanced players and the real skill is in landing hits. I was killing it last night, and then I ran into this one dude who had crazy combos and nasty setups. Dude damn near got three perfects in a row on me.

I mean I guess you’re right but it seems too easy and a button masher’s dream but you need casuals to thrive

On the flip side you have a game that’s ass like mortal kombat when it comes to its move system

I’m not getting this regardless though but I wish the game luck because it’s really good

Fighting Game of the Year and completely got avatar the fuck outta here lol
