I just never understood the obsession with this game nor 2k
As someone who admittedly was anti 2k for the longest, I can't remember when the switch happened for me but I was pissed I was blindly playing Madden over the 2k offerings when they first released. I was able to go back and play the CH2k8, ESPN 2k5 and apf 2k8 and was really impressed at the attention to detail in those games that a lot of these newer games are just getting

I used to think the player movement was too stiff in 2k8 until I learned that you really have to have feet set to throw passes. You not running 40 yards backwards then throwing some shit 70yds down field. 3, 5, 7 step drops actually meant something. Then you have to come out of the lil bounce at the end of the drop. RB had weight and fluidity to them. Walter Payton played like Walter Payton.

Finally figured it out

I had been watching a lot of NCAA 25 recruiting videos and noticing that every player, including the "professional" dudes just run back as far as they can in the pocket to fuck with the AI pursuit angles and to buy time for routes to open then they sling the ball down the field.

There is no such thing as the 3, 5, 7 step drop like I mentioned in my previous post. I mean, you kinda have to be planted for optional accuracy but you're not dropping back to be in synch with the timing of the routes.

This is still very much an arcade football game

I was gonna skip this year as I bought last but my RB on cover. Instant cop lol
