We are not saying kids need to have those things jackass. We are saying why is the government going out its way to restrict the poor when we have so many other options to actually have people healthy.

Pretty much ok with saying poor people need to be legally excluded from some shit because we know what’s good for them. How you can’t see that?

Lol not supposedly it is unhealthy. Alot of that shit is terrible for you. Obesity a huge (no pun intended) problem in America as well as diabetes. Both the top killers of black folks specifically.

But taking away people's choice to be unhealthy is a problem.

Like someone said, just make the healthier options more affordable. But they not gon do that. I do think people should educate themselves more on the cost of healthier food options. I know people who think they cant afford anything in Whole Foods. Not knowing that you could get a bunch of produce / fruits, etc for $50 if they knew how to shop for it.

Nobody is legally excluding poor people from anything you can use cash like everyone else if its that deep. Why should the need to buy shit you don't actually need be subsidized by tax payers?

It should be restricted for everyone but how would that go over?

Nobody said anything about it saving taxpayers millions. But again why should taxpayers be paying for something you don't actually need? If you want it buy it with your own money like everyone else.

This is a ridiculous thing to be up in arms about lol. God forbid you cant buy honey buns and soda with food stamps. The oppression.

I don’t think people on food stamps need their choices restricted. Being low income lessens your choices by default anyway. That’s really all this is to me. It’s about freedom. America

Not my intent to say only poor people shouldn't have it because sugar is unhealthy for everyone, but since we are here I will also say that many poor people can't afford to be sick. Overconsumption of sugar poses a ton of health issues. A lot people cant even afford quality health insurance as is.

So shouldn’t ask for better? I think we should get free healthcare too. But again to me it seems like this is only restricting folks on stamps. Talking about tax payers like people on stamps don’t pay taxes too is crazy.

Being able to buy candy bars and soda isn't socialism. You just want to mad about something that is relatively positive because you don't want to hear the word no. Thats a you issue. This is a positive for people on food stamps all around not a negative.

You looking at this wrong. It’s not about what’s best, it’s about individual choice and freedom.

What if they restricted the types of healthcare poor people get in Canada because of their choices? Like we’ll give you healthcare but if you smoke we’re not treating your COPD. If you fat we’re not treating your diabetes.
 
theres so many localities where theres nothing within walking distance other than a gas station or a dollar store (a lot don't even have those). This will render many with mobility and transportation difficulties unable to buy much of anything to eat most of the time

luck isnt the correct framing. such programs aren't the fruit of American benevolence or democracy but concessions from a series violent labor and social uprisings that have been all but eliminated from popular history
 
I can’t buy Doritos with food stamps so I have to use a $5 bill instead!!!
