Thats my only issue. Niggas get killed for less and cops aint listenin to "its a toy gun". Just few years ago didnt a black kid get killed in like 10 secs of cop showing up cuz he was just holdin a fake gun..

Yikes

its sad to see cause the number one reason people get caught up in street sht is from family..
and the logic in the response she had was even worse. he could've got so many other things that KIDS actually should be playing with...

but I aint a parent. so i aint gone tell others "how to parent"

lil man look like he was teaching moms how to use it:think2:

Why a child need a toy gun? I don’t know Walmart got a whole isle of toy guns. Gun stores sell real children rifles too. You got to ask them. I don’t care what she buys him. He got a toy gun. There are children getting trained to fire rifles.. nobody worried about them. I bet there are 1000+ videos of kids getting REAL guns for Christmas. Y’all ain’t saying shit. Bro got a little ass plastic gun that he’ll probably never leave the house with. This is only a issue because he black and he Von nephew. There is nothing wrong with this video.

I understand the environment his momma was raised in so I don’t judge them, you trying to justify it and playing the “black vs white” card is ignorant and victim shit

good day, good sir

What was her response?

That kid sitting his mother how to handle a firearm is crazy. Little boy had his finger on the trigger and gone holla you shoot with one hand. Somebody send his ass a private tutor.

I think toy guns that are meant for play are a lil 20th century. No big deal but I wouldnt get my kid one.

But how capable don is with it, how much he knows about it, niggas talkin' about lessons. It's a sickness your country has

I don't see a problem with the gift. Just don't have him running around the front yard or taking it outside the house cause these cops just waiting to make a "mistake in fear of their lives"

nothing wrong with his gift............tho I see why they making an issue out of it cuz of the guy's death

it's just everything ain't for social media

u can't post shit for people to look at and then get mad when they offer an opinion

as far as a toy gun, black kids shouldn't have to be restricted just because racist cops get away with targeting our children......white kids get to freely play without fear/restriction

instead of putting the responsibility on innocent kids, we should all address the issues with these fucked up cops

but we have...for decades. have you seen anything that suggest that police are on the verge of changing their behaviors? because i haven’t

we have every right to be cautious until that day comes

Only tangentially related, but fuck it.

I was watching Die Hard the other day and it got to the part where Carl Winslow was telling McClain about what fucked his career up. He said something like 'I shot a kid. It was dark. He had a toy gun. I dunno, it looked real enough.'. Somehow I never really paid attention to that part. Like I remember that part, but I never paid ATTENTION to it.

The shit was jarring. How casually it was stated. How right afterwards they try to make you feel sorry for the COP, talking about how they police academy doesn't teach you how to live with a mistake. It was pretty gross.

are we really being cautious? or are we just teaching our kids to live in fear?

should we not encourage our kids to embrace their innocence?

and should we discourage them from their 2A rights in the future?

doesn't seem like "being cautious" has really worked either considering how many of our children don't even play with guns and still managed to be killed by the same alleged trained professionals sworn to protect us

man I feel u on that shit

it's like they have marketed the concept thru media that it's ok for LE to be reckless and violent

and if someone innocent is a casualty, then the only consequence is that the cop gets to feel guilty about it SMH

sad that as a society we have been ok with this for so long

the only thing that stuck out to me was the innocence of our kids.

thats what we need to protect more than anything.

we as adults...some of us anyway....place too much adult shit on our kids.

nothing wrong with a child having a gun....the issue is usually the environment and how the parent brings the child up in that environment.

until an utopia exists, there are certain measures we need to take in order to protect ourselves

I don’t call that living in fear. i’m sure you take certain measures every day

and my argument had nothing to do with our second amendment rights. i have no problem with us exercising such

but for me, i’m not comfortable with my children or our youth playing with toy guns resembling the one in the opening post. remove police from the situation for a second. lil man running around pointing a gun at someone else’s child, sibling, or cousin, and they feel their loved one is in danger and they possess a gun with poor decision making skills, shit can escalate

to your last point, i hear you. but we have a better chance at seeing Jesus come back with a copy of Detox than seeing these cops change their behaviors

damn i tried to keep my response short. my bad lol
