OPINION Is Marvel's Black Panther movie really a "special moment" for Black America??

Great movie.

Diaspora commentary wrapped in a comic movie.

I absolutely felt Killmongers motivations were not wrong...He just let hatred blind him. But I do think his actions were necessary to open eyes.

His words at the end of the movie should be a call to action for all black folk. Especially in America.

I cannot overstate how good this movie is.

Definetly the best Marvel movie.

I rather die like a man than live like a coward. It's a ghetto up in heaven and it's ours. Black power. - 2Pac

Only God Can Judge Me could damn near be Killmonger's theme.

See that's why my sarcasm is better than yours....

I would say something like

It's simply amazing that it took something as simple as a comic book to finally give Niggaz the courage to dream again.

Wish I could show this to the assholes who used to play a nigga for liking comics back in school..... Oh wait... Those the same Niggaz that was doing flips dressed like Zulu warriors

I'm kinda with du on this. Niggas going overboard with the hype and its hypocritical also because were was the fanfare when Luke cage dropped on Netflix? These niggas going to the theater dressed up as king jafe jofeir of zamunda and whatnot. Why wasn't niggas out there in extra medium yellow shirts rockim' baldies and beating up pimps and drug pushers out in the streets for Luke cage? What up with that?

Because luke cage was not in theatres for starters .. luke cage wasnt from a fantastical land with a myriad of different characters with costumes

This is like any other film of this nature this is akin to a black star wars given the the aformentioned
