How Should We Go About Rebuilding Our Community?

I agree with all that you guys are saying but the one thing that hasn't been said is most of these knuckle head ass niggas have no parental guidance. When I was growing up my parents made sure to always see what I was doing, these kids now don't have that. These kids out here doing all the stupid shit they watched their parent/s do.
 
I agree, it all starts in the household. So i guess it starts with how we approach relationships and sex.
 
It starts with education. We need to educate our people on how things should be before bringing children in the world. I know we can't completely get rid of underage pregnancies but we can lessen it.

Love too. I know this sounds corny as hell but now that I work with kids, you will be shocked at the amount of kids who don't get hugs everyday or some kind of affection from their parents.

Getting involve wit your local and state elections.

Get people in office who actually care about making positive changes in these communities, and can pass legislation to do it.

The biggest gripe I had wit people (especially my people) when Pres. Obama was in office, was that fact folks acted like HE was responsible for change w/n our community. That i felt was unfair.

We got a Black Caucus in Congress, I didn't hear any mention of them? Protesting is cool, but then what? What are WE gonna do to make sure we get change?
 
It starts with the youth. They need to have better role models. Boys need strong father figures to look up to and girls need a strong female to look up to AND both female and male need a strong family unit (Mother and Father) to see what a family looks like.

Our children need to be taught financial independence and how to manage their money. Learn about stocks and bonds as well


ALSO and more importantly WE need to buy real estate fuck shoes and cars and appreciating item's. If we can build generational wealth our kids kid's can have something to live off of. Crackas do it all the time it's called an inheritance but sad to say We don't own anything of value like we should.
 
Money

No hope means no dreams. No dreams means no drive. No drive means no fucks given. These people "in position of power" know a better school system for these kids would help for starters. They won't even do that. They're still closing schools down.

Free college education

Teaching horticulture to the youth to encourage healthy eating and creating a self sustainable environment.

I always felt that self defense and target practice should be taught in school

All over we need to behave more as an actual community that cares for one another and uplift positivity.
 
It takes a moron to think a community's problems are small enough for internet users to handle.

I definitely believe the way to TRULY rebuild our community is to change the mentality of our people! We have to think deeper than just what's going on in front of us. We have to tackle things at the ROOT FIRST. This is what has held us back for so long. the ignorant, and the ignorant runs rampant. The children having children, the murdering, self-hate, crab in a bucket mentality.We have been damaged as a people for so long. Willie Lynch Syndrome, Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome these are very real sociological issues with in our communities.We won't get too far with any type of strategy or blueprint without starting on us first. No short cuts. And I'm talking about the rich and the poor a like. We all need the healing. We all need to come together as a people. We all need this knowledge (knowledge of self). We all need the self acceptance and self love. I agree with every person's suggestions in this thread. I just honestly feel like to get to where we need to be the focus should be on reaching out to our people on a psychological level first. This will open doors for the next stages. Man y'all just don't know what the manifestation of healing would bring to our communities. Yes it would take time. Yes it would be a lot of work. But the results.....man those results would be worth every hurdle, especially for generations to come.

Where are tangible things we can do to start tho? So far we have community centers, what else?
