The single biggest weapon homeowners use to keep "unwanted people" out of their properties is this one sentence in their ads:

"We require a clear credit, criminal and eviction history".

They know a lot of Black folks have fucked up credit. They know many of us may have had a run-in or two with the law. And those of us on the lower end of the income ladder may have an eviction out there.

If you can pass that shit, they're still gonna just say "we've got someone interested already..." just to keep you out.
