Season 5 was very different from the previous 4 but not in a bad way but just different. Jon Hamm killed his role. He really made you hate him lol.
Not sure if this gets another season but this isn't a series that's worth running back in it's entirety imo.
You definitely can watch them as standalones but I give S5
