If there should be no stigma for abortion because a woman does not wish to be a mother, there should be no stigma for a man deciding he doesn't want to be a father (at least in a case where the man gives the woman a clear heads up and she chooses to push forward with the pregnancy anyway). There is a stigma for abortion though. So much so that many want it to, are pushing for, and have made it illegal in some places. And his sexual habits affect more than just him and he's public about his child he does claim as part of his public image. So the ones he's abandoning are part of that public image too.

But the prevailing idea in communities that I feel like some interested in this convo are a part of (not y'all, I've just seen this discussion on a few places) is that there shouldn't be a stigma. So all I am saying is, keep that energy. Also, no, the child he does not claim does not just become a part of his public image unless the mother makes her a part of it. None of us should know anything about that child unless the child's mother moves in that way.

I said that this was the logical conclusion. For whatever it's reasons were to begin with, it was clear to anyone with half a brain where it was headed. If there should be no shame in the game, let there be no shame in the game. If you feel otherwise, though, might I suggest auditing your beliefs to make sure everything aligns properly.

When part of his image is being a good father, and it is if you saw the Starting 5 special on Netflix or how often he talks about his daughter he claims, then being a dead beat to the others definitely is part of that. Can't have one without the other. He's using his child to see himself to the public. His ability to be a good father now is part of that by his own doing. Never has a man abandoning his children been seen as a good thing. So that's always going to come with a negative stigma. Same as a woman who gets an abortion will always carry a negative stigma to many.

As for the logical conclusion...nah. sex positivity is simply about not shaming people on some "Men can do this women can't" when it comes to sexual desires and actually having sex. None of that leads to a conclusion of abandoning children being seen as ok. Thinking people shouldn't be shamed for the amount of partners they have or who they choose to have sex with has nothing to do with abandoning your children. Ain't nobody shaming them for having sex.
