Did The Husband Overreact?

He's a dickhead and didn't buy enough utensils to make sure everyone would be covered. I ain't never heard my family say some nonsense like that.
 
LLS that foundation of her husband never being first in her life was laid down a long time ago.

I don't have these problems, my wife would make my plate first or ask me if its cool if she makes somebody else plate before mine.
 
Who do yall really consider guests in your home?

I don't consider my mother, siblings and closest friends guests when they come to my home. All them are people who can go into my fridge without asking.

If I allow you to do that you're not a guest in my home.
 
Its really a lot simplier than yall making it out to be. Its THEIR marriage. not mines, yours or anyone else. If Homie feels the need to make it a problem than that's on her and him to deal with.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if she held him in high regard but since my donor-in-law wasn't in my wife's life much I don't have to worry about that. In fact, I met him once BEFORE we got married and she never saw him since.

idk maybe my family dont have a lot of old people on either side....all the grands are gone

but anyway i feed all the kids first at every function....make a big line and get all the babies out the way and sat down, and then its all in

fuck this story tho....him and his homeboy need a couples retreat and it can be all about them ?

Yea we always feed the kids first then it’s free for all. First come first serve. But I, personally, never eat before the older people.

He probably didnt have great male influences or they were toxic.

He literally has no idea what healthy masculinity and manhood looks like

I usually eat last cause I wanna make sure everybody good before I get my plate

ESPECIALLY if elders are present.

Yeah. It similar in my family. All the old heads get their plates first. Then the kids. Then usually the ladies. Men are usually last.

this thread is funny tho its really got me wondering if we always been like fuck old people

I swear i've never heard of the old head rule...but again the oldest person at any event is like 62 and she either been ate or really dont care either way

im actually a lil hot if I see any adults eating before the kids....especially if they brought kids!!!

That's the biggest difference. The first plates mean more to older men then to women.

Older men see it as a sign of respect that they were thought of and taken care of first.
Also, they are mad impatient.

Old ladies really don't be giving a fuck, 9x outta 10 they are still in the mix of preparing it. So their focus is on getting the food out, not really eating.
And they be snacking the whole time they cooking too.
 
I suspect it's more to the story... He probably been feeling disrespected bout other shit and this was the boiling point..

If you don't sleep there every night then you're a guest. If you only in my house during special occasions then you're a guest.

Special get togethers is the only time it's cool for the husband to not get the first plate when you have guests over. The wife giving her dad a plate first on normal days is disrespectful to the head of the table, her dad not her #1 anymore so the wife gotta move accordingly.
