“Wimen” hating? That’s a new one

I'm a wait a week before I decide if I want to waste my money on this because I wasn't crazy about last summer's Superman movie. I normally don't pay attention to critic reviews but when most of the reviews are mixed/bad it may be a sign to catch this when it hits streaming apps.

I'll wait if it ain't looking good I'll hold out on Spider-Man 4.

I liked her as Supergirl. She's got the attitude of her

I did not know the whole story was going to be babysitting that girl while she keeps trying to kill the guy. I didn't get that from the trailers. There were a bunch of times when Kara could have just killed the guy or let the girl kill him but didn't

She saw a glimpse of Kara's powers and STILL didn't listen to her. It got annoying. I did like how Kara adjusted to when she didn't have her powers

I liked how they displayed what green, yellow, and red is for them. Wish they went further. Like a lot of the movie Kara wasn't at full power and it kinda bugged me because I really wanted to see it

I liked how the delved into how Kara liked being normal and without the powers. She could be a regular person that gets drunk and doesn't have any worries. The surprise oh wow blood when she was drunk on the planet with the red sun was funny

While her "mission" was to save her dog... the dog wasn't in the entire movie. So the dog haters will like that

It was nice seeing her have her me time with reflection only to come back to earth and Clark and call it home

Lobo's bike still bothered me but that's just nitpicking. I'm hoping we see Superman with Lobo because I always liked the banter

I was surprised no after credit scene

I think I'm catching this joint as a rental. Not wasting my money & time on this. James Gunn gone keep playing until he gets kicked to the curb at WB.

A lot of that is nitpicking to a high degree

He doesn't like that she went off to other planets and celebrated her birthday. She needs a red run to get drunk. Can't do it on earth lol

Randomly meets the girl seeking revenge and didn't want join in until her dog was poisoned. That just showed her "not my problem" attitude. I do agree that Lobo getting added didn't really add anything. Take him out and I don't think it actually messes with the story. Lobo felt like a late addition

Honestly seems like he doesn't know much about the Supergirl character lol

He also complained about a song choice

I know it's trendy to shit on DC movies though lol

That article doesn't state that they disliked that she bounced from planet to planet. That's just a fact after her showing up in Superman

The actual criticism starts in this paragraph -

When I first saw Milly Alcock as young Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon, it was clear she was going to be a star. But in her extremely prominent breakout blockbuster role as Kara in Supergirl, the actress is so hamstrung by the writing and direction of the film that it’s hard to even fully judge her in the part.

Positives: Milly Alcock as Supergirl. I liked her performance in this with her sarcasm and as someone who carries with her the pain of the destruction of Krypton. I liked the costume design and the variety of aliens. The Krypton scenes worked for me as well as the scenes with Superman.

Negatives: Everything else. Humor was hit or miss, Seth Rogen was probably the funniest. I'm over these sterile ass gray environments. You couldn't even differentiate between the planets. If you've not read Woman of Tomorrow, you should see how beautiful and colorful it is. The soundtrack and needle drops were wack. Krem was wack. You actually feel the emotional journey Kara and Ruthye are on in the comic. I never really feel it here

Oh yea, the editing sucks too. You can tell shit was cut out from the film so it makes for some awkward ass editing

Not a good look to follow up Superman with a dud. The onus is on the director, the writer and Gunn
