How do you discern the difference between when someone's giving you good game or when they're just hating?

its typically taken as constructive if you know the person has some sort of experience or base knowledge on the subject

its not even about the approach with me at that point

constructive means to be useful and to build up by definition....if you're being constructive, you're tryin to help them
