I've been watching all the old videos the director released on youtube. Wonder if hes going to be using the same lore for this movie or if it will be its own unique thing.

The director of the movie is really young. I think hes only 21 right now or maybe a little bit older.

5 years or so ago somebody posted a photo on 4chan of an empty warehouse or something and people started saying how uneasy the empty spaces made them feel. So the director came up with an idea of "the backrooms" which is like a purgatory type dimension. Just walking for eternity through these never ending hallways and spaces. But then the deeper in you go, the crazier things get. Eventually seeing monsters and other stuff, forever running through a maze.

There's a lot more ideas he came up with, but he created a whole series that he released on youtube 5 years ago that you can watch. They're all mostly 10-15min videos. After he release it, they blew up and he got hired on to make this movie.
