Deflection lol!

But I hear you.
Not on purpose, just being real.

I personally feel tats should something you can talk about.

If you can't intelligently explain your African tat,, then you look stupid when some one call you out on it....

I personally don't care,, so I'm not going to fake outrage. But some people really do care, and you gotta be prepared to deal with them

Ehh...I mean some valid points was made on both sides..I actually can understand where folks are coming from.

I have heard tattoo artists refusing to do certain tats, b/c of similar reasons. For example The Samoan tats.

Niggaz wanna be the rock soooooooo bad

Or maybe they just think it's nice

If you want it (and can afford it) get it. People buy things every second of the day for looks and never really know what the purchase they bought can fully do or mean for the most part.

The tattoo artist, seems like the faux woke cracka who wants to be down so bad that he will cut off his nose to spite his face. He's in the business of making money and building a clientele yet when tge customer comes in wanting his services he declines them on a moral and not a legit reason.

I came in the thread cuz I am contemplating a tat on my foot but I see this is deeper

It's too early for this shit, I'll be back

I think most if not all of this tumblr age cultural appropriation accusation is overblowing things out of proportion.

These days people in America mostly wear the same styles of clothing, eat basically the same food, live under the same value system. Nobody can say they do not knowingly or unknowingly incorporate other people's cultural elements in their day to day lives.

Man, your self hate EXUDES you my guy. Who are you to say that his reasons are not moral or legit? He does not need our stamp of approval to decline to serve someone no more than establishments who put signs out saying "No Shirt, No Shoes , No Service", but we are accepting of that, because to us that makes sense so we say nothing about it.

But to HIM, he feels that he doesn't want any parts of putting said symbol on a white woman. It didn't matter to me either way, but i won't condemn him or say that he didn't have a "legit" reason. haha.

It's his dang shop, he offered other symbols that she may have liked and was willing to tat on her, he just has his personal feels about those. haha And this dude was tatted from neck to torso with some "questionable" devilish items, he didn't "seem" like a "faux woke cracka" as you so eloquently put it. smh.. but who knows.

I highlighted why I said self hate. You quick to call folks "Crackas" when you , yourself are white. smh.. That's like me using the hard "R" when referring to African folk. lol..

As for your opinion, you are entitled, doesn't mean you are right tho.

I did not see you highlighted foolishness also you're wrong ma'am. I'm right

IMO they are both right in this case. She has the right to have it and he has the right to refuse to do it. But it is tricky . I used to disagree with people having locs without understanding where it came from and what they represent. Then I learned that your struggle in growing your hair will put you through the test to see if you deserve to have them. Getting that tattoo may lead to her researching more about the origin and the meaning. That could only benefit to her and the people who ask her about it. As for him, I wouldn't want to do artwork that I didn't believe was appropriate for the customer. He has a higher calling in his work and it should be respected.
