I did too....i got the app, so I'm like O Shit.... Only for it to be a5 min teaser. It was good though...i watched it 4 times trying to mine as much information as possible

Perfect introduction to the world of the supernatural. It kinda reminded me of the beginning of MIB.
 
Episode 1 was mostly world building. Im interested to see where they go with this though. Looking forward to the rest of the season

I haven't got to any talamacsa characters in the books besides David I think. So I had no idea who was who

Is Guy supposed to be David?

So what's the time frame of this? Obviously it's set after the book was released. I'm guessing it's before The Vampire Lestat

He takes meds to stop the noises but sometimes uses it. The candy description was interesting

I was curious who created the vampire. Even more curious about the person that can control the vampires with that click

Something I just noticed throughout the shows
The nails are on the long side to give that 'vampire' look but I thought you stay exactly the same through eternity as you were when you turned. So shouldn't everyone's nails not be extra long? Except for maybe Louie and Lestat because that was sort of the thing back then?

All new original characters for the show. No one is based off of a book character, none of the story is taken from any novel. This is a new thing.

Nothing or no one will be from the books, it's just a vessel for them to world build the immortal universe. This is completely fresh.
 
I think that's just a design thing. In the books their nails are more glass like, and are sharper than normal... But a lotta vamps are very vain and adjust their appearance daily as part of a routine. Notice in season 1 Armond always wore gloves to hide his nails.

That's interesting but I hope that means they aren't going to not have David in. He was actually really interesting to me

I meant the length of the nails. They seem to always be shown as longer and more manicured than average. I remember Gabrielle having a difficult time with her appearance because it would always go back to how it was when she was turned. Or maybe not difficult but I think it was mentioned of an annoyance

So someone like Daniel likely had his really short before he was turned but you see he has really long nails
