And their coaches stupidity. The Spurs playing the first quarter the way they did is only done with instruction. Timeouts, rotations and halftime don't even matter for recovery after that. You spent energy so hard off rip that for the rest of the game you can only ever reasonably get it back up to an 80% base default.

You don't start an 800 meter race in a dead sprint.
