I these are all interesting options

1. Flattened lottery odds, more teams in the lottery bottom 10 all have an equal chance.....this would prevent teams having a massive race to the bottom every year

2. 22 teams and its over a 2 year period.....this would incentive teams to be mid and push for the playin/bottom seeds of the playoff more and you would see teams that are like the 7th seed have chances to win the lottery

3.Sounds pretty straight forward, bottom 5 teams all have equal chances and have their own lottery with a floor at 10...those that fall out have a seperate lottery. You can still tank basically but it becomes more of a gamble

I think you could say Lebron. His championships all came when he surrounded himself with other players that could put up numbers. He's never won one when he was the sun and everyone else was just revolving around him. He essentially did the same thing as MJ. Except he made proactive moves to surround himself with developed players rather than having them develop around him.

Your point is right, but you're using a player that's the exception to the rule.

Using Luka would have been better. Thats a mfer who is super ball dominant, having a historic offensive season but his on off numbers are in the 40th, meaning the Lakers are just as good without him.

Luka is the best offensive player in the league and is having the best season offensively. The Lakers offensive rating with him is 119 and 115 without.

Nuggets offensive rating with Jokic is 125 and 114 without.

And Luka has a 38% usage rate and Jokic has a 29% usage rate.

So had you used Luka for all this, no one would have hated on your take.

You just happened to use the one guy who it makes sense for the offense to run through him.

You're right. Luka would have been a much better example. I still think Jokic fits what I'm saying, but he shouldn't have been the first person I went to.

I think removing the lottery like the nfl is rhe right choice. This was the worst 2-3 teams tank and the rest don't. The issue with any lottery system is that if you show me I can be 8th worst and still get a historically good rookie like the Mavs did, then I can be the 5-10th worst team and still tank.

With that said, #1 I like the least. Flatten lottery risks can mean a really good team with a superstar that has a season ending ending injury can get the #1 pick by being the 9th worst team in the league. It can lead to crazy dynastic teams. Still super luck based but it can def happen. Plus a team can get the #1 pick and then get good enough to be the 8th worst team off that in season 1 and still get the same odds to get the #1 pick.

Same with #2. You can have the Curry worries be dominant for a decade and then be the 7th seed when they start getting older and then land a Cooper Flag or a Wemby.

Maybe its not a bad thing to see familiar teams stay good and not have parity.

Imo just get rid of the lottery. Its hard to be the worst team in the league. Add to this that the winner do the #1 pick can't get a top 3 pick the next year and let that shit ride.

No more teams being like we got the 12th worst record, let's try to slide down to 9th worst for a shot at a first pick.

Overall, none of those choices fix the problem imo and 2 out of 3 make it worse
 
For the numbers nerds, check these advanced stats. The bold means those numbers were the best in the league. Having clusters of those bold numbers like that is crazy. Can anybody guess the three players.

Nope. I think Jokic is the best player in the NBA right now. I haven't seen Embiid play as much though. I might reconsider that if Embiid's offense is close to Jokic while also being much better defensively. I tend to prefer players that are good on both sides of the ball. That's why I have no problem with players like Shai or Wemby being considered over Jokic for MVP.
