Would you try to convince them not to or would you support their decision?
 
Nothing wrong with the military because the military has so many non combat roles that can give them education, experience, and a leg up on their peers once they get out

Idk why when ppl think military they just picture

If I had kids Id have them talk to my Pops......Did almost 30 years in the Marines

I would definitely advise to look at the Air Force or Navy and not the Army or Marines though if possible

I once talked to an Iraq War vet that was a mechanic.

They said they needed a volunteer for something and he raised his hand.

He was about to go get his tools when they told his ass "naw, go pick up a rifle".

Whoops........

They made him clear out bunkers stuffed with thousands of corpses that Saddam's men dug up from mass graves and burned.

So imagine the stench of thousands of rotting burned bodies hitting you.

Now he can't do BBQs or well done steak because the smell triggers his PTSD.

Lol what I meant was you can join the military and not be deployed overseas
