I wouldnt like it. Id try to offer them other options that doesn't involve them potentially losing their lives for a country that dont gaf about them but ultimately, it's their choice to make at that age

I would definitely advise to look at the Air Force or Navy and not the Army or Marines though if possible

I once talked to an Iraq War vet that was a mechanic.

They said they needed a volunteer for something and he raised his hand.

He was about to go get his tools when they told his ass "naw, go pick up a rifle".

Whoops........

They made him clear out bunkers stuffed with thousands of corpses that Saddam's men dug up from mass graves and burned.

So imagine the stench of thousands of rotting burned bodies hitting you.

Now he can't do BBQs or well done steak because the smell triggers his PTSD.
