Personality first. She created a following when she was stripping. Then got picked up by Love and Hip Hop. Her popularity started to get bigger.

Looks helped. She only had mixtapes when she was on the show.

There are a lot of pretty girls and strippers that dont have nearly the popularity that she has. She blew up cause people (Mainly women) liked here realness and rough side.
 
I knew cardi was different when she addressed the claims of her fucking her way to the top....

She was offended like.... I wish it was that easy, cuz I woulda been fucked that person years ago if that's all it took....

This is true. I give Marshawn the edge though. I think Snoop is more polished. I'm not saying he's fake, but I think he's learned to present himself in a way that appeals to everyone. Lynch a hood ninja, and he's that no matter where he goes and who he's around, and somehow people love him for it. It's so crazy to me because a fact that a lot of the same nonblack people that love Lynch likely hate other black dudes just like him that they encounter in their everyday lives. They be on some "I just don't like the loud and obnoxious" black people as they show nothing but love towards Lynch who seems to be on 100 at all times.

Right....

Cuz I saw some of her earlier music before she blew up... She could always rap.... But it took her a minute to get on. She said she woulda skipped all them struggle years if she could have just slept with the right person.



The amount of work to get this song out, and this wasn't the break out hit must've been frustrating as fuck.

I can hear her in my head

I was in my last semester of college in Fall 2005. That semester was wild for us. Katrina had hit just a few months prior.
Then graduating and looking for an engineering job. A lot of companies never opened back up who I had contact with for possible jobs.

I graduated December 2008 from college


Worst time to leave school


Didn’t find a decent paying job until like 2011 because of the damn recession


Everything wasn’t better back then guys!
