Spend That (Wicked A** Song or Is That Your Jam?)

Now which is a kid more likely to encounter in their home life...a gun in the home or a scammer? Lol. Both require an adult to explain the seriousness of the issue and why it isn't something to take lightly. The issues are actually on the same page because it's a child being introduced something meant for adults. And a parent having to explain why the fantasy world of entertainment isn't the same as reality where there are consequences for your actions. If an 8 year old little girl is quoting this song the issue is her parents because that child would still have issues even if that song didn't exist.

Which one would you want your child to encounter. Watching Cartoons, daffy duck falling off a cliff before they eat their 5:30 snack or in the house reciting these words:

I like a gangster-ass nigga makin' more than ten figures (Yеah)
I'm a down-ass bitch, ridin' with you in the splatt
Only fuck with the hitters, for his girl, hе a tricker
Callin' up his trap phone, pussy nigga, where you at? (Where you at?)
Show me where you spin the block on your opps (On your opps)
Hangin' out the drop, screamin', "Fuck the cops" (Fuck 12)
What we doin', nigga? Show me where your hood at (Where your hood at)
What's your face card? Nigga, where you good at? (Woah)

So the issue is the parents? You agree that the children shouldn't be listening to these lyrics? You coming back around, keep talkin, you go find your way saying what I'm saying in a minute lol

Parents are the issue for letting their 8 year old listen to this, but before, you aint have a problem with it? Which one is it? Now before you answer, remember how you came into this thread on some, What's the fuss about when folks said that kids shouldn't be listening to this kind of shit, it's damaging.

Trolling to you, funny to you.

But to you, that song wouldn't have any influence, interesting, I'll leave it at that. But it's interesting that things songs, phrases, etc don't turn people into fans.

Interesting.
Bruh, you're trying to force an unrealistic narrative and call it something completely different.

The song Yung Miami made is not creating a culture of women who's goal in life is to scam niggas outta millions of dollars. She's just talking shit cuz that's her lane.

That's not to say music isn't influential AS A WHOLE.... We're talking one song, that a chick made, who her friend actually did time for scamming (which I didn't know, I just looked it up)

That's no different than a rapper rapping and selling drugs and catching bodies cuz his homeboy did it. Yeah he might be adjacent to that life style.... But making that kinda music isn't going to inspire anyone to follow their footsteps.... No matter how catchy it is.

Oh ok, so now we wanna limit women expectations? lol

I know the male feminists won't like that. You're not supposed to shut down the dreams and goals of women. Everything is a pass for them.
You know it's literally impossible to troll me?

I am completely unserious about damn near everything.

Make it rain, aint have "new" niggas in the club trying to make it rain?

When CMR came out, they didn't have every nigga trying to put a humma in their videos? They didn't have niggas using the word chrome?

So 1 song, can't influence anybody is what you're saying? How many songs does it take for a chick, who has never heard or been a part of scamming want to start scamming niggas or vice versa?

Look man, JT really about that scamming life

Legal issues and controversies

2018–2020: JT incarceration
edit
Shortly after the release of their 2017 debut single, "Fuck Dat Nigga", JT was arrested and convicted of aggravated identity theft on fraudulent credit card charges, and was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison. Following a pushback of her surrender date, JT turned herself in to the authorities on June 29, 2018, and began serving her sentence while being held at FCI Tallahassee in July 2018.[7] She was slated to be released March 21, 2020.[7] As she awaited her release, JT was transferred from FCI Tallahassee to a halfway house in Atlanta on October 8.[44] During her stay in the halfway house, she was able to leave the house during the day to work and visit family and friends.[44] To celebrate her release, JT released a track titled "JT First Day Out".[19] On the song, she shouts out Yung Miami, rapping,

"I been a real bitch way before the fed case / Yung Miami held me down, that's a bitch ace / And if a bitch try her, it's a cold case".[19]

A few celebrities showed to be displeased with the incarceration of the artist : Houston-based rapper Megan Thee Stallion shouted out "Free JT" on her song Realer,[45] Trina wore a T-shirt that had "Free JT" written on it.[7] JT was officially released from federal custody on March 7, 2020.[46]

I think then girls deserve to have a song talking about shit they really out here living.
We should let them cook....

Same amount of time it takes a square nigga to start killing niggas cuz they like King Von.

If that's the way they wanna go.... It's a free country... Chase your dreams

Parents are part of the issue. And no they shouldn't be but I also don't think it scars them for life like you do. There's a middle ground because not all kids are the same. Another thing you learn as a a parent especially if you got multiple kids. What one of your kids may handle another may not be able to. Nobody is missing your point. Some just dont agree that this song is going to cause a generation of young girls to become scammers like you do.

You know it's literally impossible to troll me?

I am completely unserious about damn near everything.

I'm just following the words and your post brotha.

You are crushing these chicks dreams, they want a rich nigga, 6 figures, million-dollar dude ect. And some want that money from him.

Let's break this down: The lyrics:

He gotta be gangsta. So that means he aint got a life insurance policy, PTO, workers, comp in case he gets hurt on the job, no Christman job party or any of that shit at his employer. Nigga just hustle.

Only fuck with hitters, (um so she wants a nigga in the streets, and hanging around other felons who have rap sheets and opps)

(Call up his trap phone) she not only wants this man she wants in the streets, but she wants him to have dealings with illegal substances. Then she wants to Disrespect him by calling him a pussy ass nigga if he doesn't answer, and demands his whereabouts as if he's a child, where you at,

Now, do you think she talks like that to her father? Would she talk like that to her boss at Popeyes like that, she don't even check on her kid's father like this but she wanna demand and disrespect you like that?

And now you wanna hang out the drop (she wanna man with a drop top, a nice Buick won't cut it) and say fuck the cops, so not only you want to disrespect your man, you wanna disrespect the law, but when she goes left, you wanna get on Social media and call on Benjamin Crunp dog face ass saying that the cops had yo ass in cuffs for being obstruction to the law

So this is the shit that we want our black kids to listen to? and move around with? This information.

This shit right here?

I like a gangster-ass nigga makin' more than ten figures (Yеah)
I'm a down-ass bitch, ridin' with you in the splatt
Only fuck with the hitters, for his girl, hе a tricker
Callin' up his trap phone, pussy nigga, where you at? (Where you at?)

Scars them for life? When did I say that?
When did I say that it's going to cause a generation of young girls to become scammers?

Do you want your daughter talking like that?? Do you want black women to be talking like that? Using those words and talking to dudes like that, even having the idea to talk to a nigga like that in that manner?

This kind of dealings shouldn't be brought to black people

You know what?? Imma take a jump into this...

Like if a person's LIFE ASPIRATIONS is to be a criminal..... You can't save them from themselves.

JT is a real life criminal, Yung Miami is rapping about her crimes. If kids want to be criminals because of Miami music.... Then fuck it, let them be criminals. You can't save everybody.

I know imy kids have no desire to be criminals. So regardless of what they listen to, so I'm doing my job as a parent to not let them be inspired by that madness.

Now if it's kids who hear these songs and that makes them hop off the porch, I ain't putting that on the artists... They just telling their truth, that's on the parents. It's a parents responsibility to keep their kids from being criminals, not music artists.

And if it's adults who let songs like this inspire them to be criminals, they need to blame themselves.. Cuz I spent a whole life listening to rap music and I never killed one person or sold one brick of coke.. Even if I had close friends that did it. If I can listen to the music and resist the urge to conduct myself into criminal behavior, anybody else should be able to.

There's no accountability on the individual, and I think lack of accountability of an individual regarding their conscious actions is way more harmful and dangerous than any song.

I don't blame the rapper, I blame the people who blame it on the rapper, bcuz they aren't going through life like they have no choice but to follow what they hear in a song.

If you singing about scamming and never heard of it, but it's something you like, what are you going to do as a child? Ask what it is, and find out.

Kids don't just do stuff for the sake of doing especially if others are doing it. They want to know the why, what, and how

I know lol but kids ain’t gonna be able to scam credit cards and stuff

If a song influences a person (adult or child) to be a criminal.. It's not the songs fault. It's the mindset of the person that can let a song have that much of an influence on what they make the decision to do.

Number one movie is obsession... If someone watches that, and feels that's how they should live their life. They have pre-existing issues that need to be addressed .

MY FAVORITE TV show right now is about Vampires. I have no desire to be a vampire. But if someone watches this show and decides to be a vampire now. .... They have pre-existing issues that need to be addressed.

If listening to spend dat leads you to a life a crime. You have pre-existing issues that need to be addressed.

People gotta stop looking to outward shit to explain their actions, and just take accountability.

Something isn't connecting if you on some monkey see, monkey do shit.... Mentally healthy people do not move like that. And we shouldn't have to censor music because some people can't handle listening to music without acting out the lyrics.

Cuz that's not going to stop then from being impressionable... They just gonna find another muse to justify their actions and continue to not take accountability for their decisions

Coco Jones be having some bangers
I still like sza
C breezy still doing him, that link up with the homie Leon for mutt was phenomenal.
As with everything, including the entire premise of the thread .. You gotta wanna listen to it.

I told Spotify to play r n b last night and it's tons of new music out, I don't know most of the artists, but that's MY FAULT bcuz I don't tell Spotify to play be rnb nearly enough.

I'm not going to blame the genre or the culture because I don't request Spotify to play rnb enough. That's all on me.

And that's my logic in this discussion. If I don't wanna hear spend dat, I always have the options to listen to other shit....

Thats not the issue. Reasonable adults know they can just not listen but the youth is going to run towards whatever is viral, trending and popular. Some are even forced to listen becausetl they're just arpund irresponsible adults. These labels purposely prioritize and push highly negative music and there's kids don't know any better at their mercy. When these kids see people leaning into the fuckshit they look at these rappers, their traits, characteristics, the look, the words and see themselves in the rappers and think that is the way to be to get women, get money, get clout etc. Some of the wrong people and things are inspiring our youth. When the majority of content being pushed to the forefront by design and negative and no one is saying or doing anything you have to admit we have a problem we need to address.

Rap has influenced all culture. It influences the way people talk, dress, think, dance, carry themselves in situations. There's people that really try to take on the personalities of these rappers. While there's great things that have come about because of that there's things that are also terrible and tragic things happening as a result.

There's people really dying and going to prison over music these white owned labels and corporations have relentlessly pushed to the black community making money hand over fist with no fucks given. To me the line should have been drawn years ago.

And im not saying rap is to blame for all of the things or that this spend that record is necessarily going to cause any terrible or tragic things to happen but rap is highly influential. We can't praise the positives of that influence in one hand and ignore the negatives of it in the other especially when the negative aspects are being heavily pushed to and through our communities with people that don't look like us and hate us.

Its not about being boring and not wanting kids to party like we did in the past or turning on other music and ignoring it. Its about changing the mindset some of these songs encourage and challenging the mindset that keeps allowing it to happen.

Black folks don't wanna hear about crime, why not rap about something else, makeup how about not getting yourself involved in crime.

Rap about that sentences that was received.

Wait,,

You said you know your kids don't want to be criminals, but the next man kids because of Miami music, it's ok? Aint that a bitch lol.

How about tell her not to rap about her crime so that Nobody's kids become criminals

Come on Du,

You've been in a club where Ante Up has come on, and you don't think that song had any influence of someone getting decked in the mouth?

Certain songs, I know down here, you had to wait to play at parties, I had a blow to blow with my uncle because he played Lil John Put Yo Hood Up 30 minutes into my party, I hadn't made my money yet, and them niggas were tearing it down, luckily, I was able to get shit under control, but music has influence over folks.

That was my famous party that put me on the map, @AP4.0 and I got trampled in my own shit lol. I called 911 and said, GEt somebody down here, they shooting, and hung up and got ran over lol

But still. Music plays a big part into all this shit

Why do people listen to Gospel music? To live a life of righteous for the most part,

Why do people listen to motivation music?

So those people have pre=existing issues that needs to be addressed?
