Spend That (Wicked A** Song or Is That Your Jam?)

They can start scamming. What we are saying is the song didn't make them do it. Somebody who wanted to be a scammer was gonna do it regardless. So why not attack the things that cause circumstances for them to think scamming is a good idea...and not a former scammer making a song about it.

What I'm saying, if you don't know about scamming you not going to do it.

If this song is about scamming and it's their favorite song, they are going to want to know what scamming is and investigate doing it.

You don't learn shit by just waking up, and say, I want to become a scammer, life doesn't work like that for most. Something or someone influences you to do your act.

How are kids already gone when they don't even know what scamming is, until they've heard the song over and over again.

That's why I said shit like this shouldn't be pumped into the community and that's why it's damaging.

You just wake up and want to start doing shit without never hearing about it or knowing what the shit is?? This is how life works to you? Folks just get up all willy nilly and say, I wanna be a dentist, without knowing what a dentist means, let alone hearing the word?

Scamming, the average 7, 8 year old doesn't know what scamming means, I bet they know what it means now since she's dropped that song.
That's the point that I'm making

Not the explicit lyrics the meaning behind the shit that's damaging the minds to become something or be a part of something negative.

I remember my mom being FURIOUS my cousin let her daughter listen to Lil Kim. Especially when she saw that poster. And my lil cousin prolly one of the most put together people in our family.

Yeah i remember the reaction to that poster lol. But the wild shit is because that CD had a parental advisory sticker on it...alot of parents had to buy it for their kids. Meaning they either weren't paying attention or didn't care. Either way that issue is on the parents not Lil Kim

You're operating under this idea that someone would have no idea what scamming is until they hear this song. Like it introduced the idea of it into the world. And that's not reality. There's evidence of scamming everywhere. If someone is old enough to be in a secondary education, a woman in nursing school, a man getting a masters degree, environment the idea that they never heard of scamming til this song is preposterous. Hell they got cartoon characters that emulate criminal activities. Even damn Animaniancs have characters that emulated the Mafia. How many Looney Tunes characters got guns, explosives and are violent as hell. This shit is embedded in entertainment even for children.

Brotha, most 7 or 8 year old kids don't know what scamming means. They do now because of this song.

Most 7 or 8 year olds don't know about coke, pills, master degrees, orgies, choppers, PTO, Ronald Reagan, Monica Lewiskey

Most 7 or 8 year olds know about their own shit, which includes 7 and 8 year old shit. Not scamming.

lol does the song actually describe scamming or just say spend the money. Like it’s it breaking down how to scam cards and steal identities? Or just saying spend the illegal money.

If you singing about scamming and never heard of it, but it's something you like, what are you going to do as a child? Ask what it is, and find out.

Kids don't just do stuff for the sake of doing especially if others are doing it. They want to know the why, what, and how

According to you and Du, they're already lost, so where did they get this information from about scamming, a 7 or 8 year old.

Where would a 7 or 8 year old get information about scamming? (if they attend school, around their parents for the most part, If they never heard the word scamming before this song? Where would they go and find out how to scam or what scamming is in 2026? Where would they sneak off to learn about scamming for 3 or 4 days? How to scam,

What would make them want to know about scams? If you don't know, then that let's you know that most 7 and 8 year olds don't know about scamming or scams, but I'm curous to know where the average 7 or 8 year old would know about scams or how to scam folks

According to Du and Black rain, they're already lost and know how to wire money from the Israelis off shore accounts across a 5G network and shit smh lol

They've gotten the scamming down to a T, according to the they've already lost crowd.

And the song isn't teaching kids how to scam. Most kids... Well I'll say my kid and her friends not jamming to this. My daughter dances to a lotta shit...she makes videos dancing to shit. I often watch her videos to see the shit she dances to....

It ain't the shit we talking about in this thread

Do you have kids bruh?

I have a 9 year old girl. I promise you they not jamming to that shit.

It's a whole ocean of adult topics my daughter has no concept of.

I applaud that, I know you're not allowing your kiddos to participate in that filth, nor is the blackrain nigga, he aint dumb either.

The song needs to be ban from radio, all listening platforms. India Arie said the shit is posion

Brotha, most 7 or 8 year old kids don't know what scamming means. They do now because of this song.

You're jumping back and forth between teens and young adults and small children. But even limiting it to small children...even if that song is the 1st time they hear about it guess what it's on their parents to do. Explain it to them. That ain't Young Miami's job. Kids ask all types of questions. And as a parent you either choose to explain it or don't. If you don't then live with the outcome of them finding out on their own. If you do then you now have control over how your child interprets what they're hearing. Talk to your kids. They actually do listen.

And as for people old enough to already know what scamming is, the song ain't gonna turn them into something they already weren't. If they was gonna scam then they was gonna do it given the chance to..not because there's a song about it. Because by the time you reach your early teens you already aware of shit like that anyways. And as Du said, for a person to even go that route there's a series of life events that precede it. The idea of somebody waking up on a random Tuesday who had never considered scamming being convinced by this song to all of a sudden become one is some crazy shit

So basically, even though responsible parents keep be their kids away from this shit, it still needs to be banned because all parents aren't responsible??

So instead of focusing on the parents and home life... We just make shit easier for them by limiting their access to things that could potentially be harmful??

That's literally like saying... Even though MOST people drink responsibly.... Because a FEW can't..
We're gonna ban ALL alcohol.

@deadeye @konceptjones @cain

Yall are the OGs on here, a few more older cats on here, yall can chime in. Dude is trying to compare 1980s Prince to Yung Miami 2026

I don't recall listening to Prince all willy nilly other than the radio songs, (I didn't get into the dude until I was much older and I dayum sholl don't remember any of my peers coming to school singing Prince sexual songs)

Since you all being a bit older, maybe was in 8th grade or high school, did any one of Prince sexual songs/lyrics have the whole middle or high school in a chokehold like "Where My scamming ass niggas at" has?

Like I said, I couldn't count on 1 hand any of my peers coming to school singing ANY Prince song let along a Prince song with sexual lyrics, but my boy in here saying that Prince had kids and teens in a chokehold singing I'ma sex shooter and computer blue at recess

There were more girls into Prince than boys.

I wasn't really checking for him like that.

Now, his music was considered risque at the time.

Parental Advisory stickers and the like.........or at least his music led up to that.

I can't really see it, but some people are making an argument that songs like Spend Dat aren't any worse than other questionable songs from different time periods.

However, I think today's music has devolved to a level a lot worse than the music at the time.

Mainly because it's a bad influence on young girls.

Especially since they seem to emulate that behavior.
