Changed 'em quite a few times. Had to change the front brakes on my moms' Tempo way, way back 'cause they were bad as fuck. Took them shits apart and it was pretty much like this:
pads were so badly worn they basically fell apart when I took the caliper off. The pad itself was completely gone and the metal was mostly disintegrated to the point where the lil rivet that holds the clip in place that holds the pad was gone. Caliper piston had pushed out so far that I had to work on it prolly 20-30 minutes to get it back into place so it could be pushed back in properly.
How she was ever able to stop couldn't have been anything but divine intervention.
That said, I need to change my front brakes very soon, but I gotta get someone to replace the front brake lines first; I ain't playin' around with that.
Way back in college, I had to enlist a couple of cops that had pulled into the gas station I was at to help me change a tire 'cause one lugnut was on so tight I was standing on the tire iron and it still didn't budge. Took one to put his body weight on one side and the other one to pull up on it to get that one bitch off.
as a teenager i beat brakes and rotors off a hooptie of a lady i was dealing with. I picked up all that shit and threw in the big ass garbage bins at an apartment complex next door not knowing that was illegal
She got all kinds of fees in the mail behind that lol smh
