We met in middle school. Her mom was assistant principal. We linked up a few times in high school, nothing serious. She ended up transferring to my college my junior year and we linked a couple of times. Then when I graduated college we linked up for the long haul. We’ll be 20 years married in September.
MySpace oddly enough. I had just moved to the DMV area and didn't know anyone, so I used to be on there a lil. I saw her profile and asked her a question on there about an event she was showing in one of her pics. That led to a convo, we went out that following weekend, and that was that. It was such a weird way of meeting for me because I'm not a social media guy at all and don't really get down with any of that much. Once we started talking my MySpace account basically went unused. It was different for her too because she normally didn't respond to PMs. She only did with me because I was asking about the event and not really anything to do with her.
We met the 1st day of our freshman year in HS because we had homeroom together. We didn't actually start dating til damn near a decade later in our 20s though. Was just friends for a long time.
EXTREMELY Long story (which I'm not elaborating here)....
Shortest version: I was originally there to meet her friend. After three weeks, decided the friend and I weren't compatible, and made my run at her. Awkward at first, but it took time and effort, and here we are......seven years married.
