Now that Wrestlemania is over….

Are you still interested in the direction that WWE is headed? Was Night 2 enough to satiate you for the time being?

Is the bell-to-bell action really that good to begin with or is it what you’re used to? Like…in ring, are WWE matches good to you?

I’m just trying to see what is stopping folks from re-considering the alternatives. WWE has proven for the better part of 2 years that regardless of their history and resources, they continue to show how directionless they are. All the money in the world and what they gave at wrestlemania was the BEST they could come up with. Think about that.

I’m just curious as to what keeps folks exclusively watching wwe at this point.

Don’t the recent fumbles make you somewhat curious as to what’s going on elsewhere? Especially if you love professional wrestling. Wrestlemania put a magnifying glass wwe’s issues when it comes to what happens week to week in that ring.

You get 6 hours of free weekly tv and prolly 30 minutes total of wrestling. The rest is recap, promo and ads.

Everyone keeps talking about how WWE pushed ads during wrestlemania whether it be on the mat, the turnbuckles, the tables, between matches and what not and it was overwhelming as fuck. But overall, I think the biggest ad they showed this weekend was honestly for AEW. WWE gave their own fans every reason to check out an alternative.

I don’t enjoy WWE as much as I used to. The talents there but the booking, as we know, isn’t always on point. I dislike the over reliance on ads and lack of matches on PLE’s because they have to fit as many ads as possible. It ruins the flow of the show for me.

Now despite acknowledging the flaws, I’m not angry about what i’m seeing compared to other folks. Folks are so hyperbolic about shit. Everything is either the greatest thing they’ve ever seen or absolute dog shit - no in between. I watch wwe, praise what I like, critique what I don’t like, and move on. Same goes for AEW. I don’t watch the weekly shows because there’s only so much wrestling I can watch in a given week. Factor in other shows/movies i’m interested in, work, having a personal life, planning for a wedding, and life…lifing. Something has to be sacrificed. I do catch all AEW ppv’s though, and I thoroughly enjoy them despite me not commenting in the threads (I don’t watch them live).

I’ve been watching WWE since 2000. I’ve fallen out a few times but it’s a habit that’s hard to kick forever. I’ve skipped smackdowns leading up to WM because the build sucked and the ONE match I was strongly interested in…they ruined due to forced celeb involvement. I don’t mind missing WWE when it’s doing nothing for me. But the Brock and Oba build/match? The Roman/Punk build/match? Shit like THAT keeps me watching. I was completely drawn in and it brought back the feeling I had watching WWE in the late attitude and ruthless aggression eras.

This is mostly the same sentiment I have as well.

Some of the shit I see doesn’t make me nearly as enraged as I see it do others. The ads, the bad creative stretch, etc are all things I acknowledge. But WWE has been WORSE before. And it’s just wrestling… a lot of it ain’t that deep.

When they entered some of the worst periods during the Cena era I totally checked out. So not watching all the time or even at all isn’t hard. I like who I like, I critique where I see fit and keep it pushing. That goes for AEW too.

When AEW was complete ass from like 2023 to mid 2025 I coulda stopped right then. But there was things they did occasionally I thought was good and talent I liked enough to still be tapped in. It’s all about discretion. Currently there’s enough talent on the WWE roster to keep me engaged and right now in my opinion we’ve just entered a new age of the black talent. MANY that I fuck with heavy. And one of them is about to be the future of the industry. That’s enough for me right now.

Idk man let ppl watch what want if they can genuinely find things they enjoy in it.

I feel what you are saying and at the bolded, that’s what I’m doing. I’m not criticizing anyone who watches it. I still watch the ppvs. I live in a glass house here.

I’m just curious to the mindset behind folks who haven’t decided to test the waters elsewhere. AEW is no where near perfect and has its own issues. I’m not saying it’s the answer or anything like that. I took a break from watching AEW week to week during that lull period you mentioned. After Swerve lost the title, they kinda lost their way and it was hard to watch…..but the PPVs were still crazy as fuck.

But yeah, this thread ain’t to bash anybody who enjoys WWE. I still enjoy something from it since I’m still watching it.

This was a whole lot of nothing cause aside from McAfee what else do you think TKO is getting involved in creatively???? I’m sure the celeb inclusion is the only part of creative they actually touch

Ain’t no telling for real. They could inject UFC into WWE shit and vice versa. There’s really no limit to what they’ll do to expand their audience

WWE does suck.

I watch for the love of the game but interest in the product is at an all time low. Even alot of the NXT talent coming up I just dont care or think alot of these microwave manufactured talents are that interesting.

Alot of what Already feels is my exact thoughts. WWE is mostly butt cheeks but Raw and PPVs are still always a priority.

Super casual fan here, so casual that i only follow wrestling through clips.

Say that to say, Trick Williams got the look, got a great entrance song, he seems to understand the moments

But he’s horrible on the mic
and green asf in the ring. But this is WWE they aint about the ring work, its ENTERTAINMENT!

My main issues has been

- booking
- utilizing the talent on the roster
- anemic SD women's division
- TKO

Let's get back to long-term booking and storylines. That feeling we had when HHH took over creative has mostly disappeared. Seems like he rather suck on the left cheek of that orange piece of shyt, than return his attention to the product.

SD is pitiful. Thing is...it doesn't have to be. That literally for tag teams sitting catering waiting to be used. What's the point of having a 3hr show if you just gonna have folks just doin backstage segments???

The SD women's roster is on struggle status. And all that shyt about Jade being "green" and need to go to NXT...that shyt got put to rest Sunday. That match proved what I've been saying for the longest. GIVE...JADE...COMPETITION! When you put her up against a talent like Rhea...Charlotte...etc...she shows out. The issue is CREATIVE. We'll see how Rhea's title reign goes cuz if she doesn't defend her title in a certain amount of days...I want that same energy brought to her like they did Jade.

TKO. Fucc them. Fucc them slappin every corporate sponsor on every fuccin thing. Fucc them long azzz commercials. Fucc their greed. Fucc them puttin PLE's on the wack azzz...lanky azzz ESPN app. Fucc them tryin to shoehorn themselves into anything creative.

Hell yea im interested in the direction we headed!! All my favorites are up coming outta mania.. Fatu, Reigns, Trick, Oba, Young OG still on the rise.

And they're finally doing something that niggas have wanted them to do all along.. which is create new black male stars. Its finally happening. We been waiting for this shit. Niggas said they weren't making new black male stars or putting black male talent on PPVs and they actually started doing it. We've seen Melo get belted up. Trick featured weekly throughout SD segments and matches with former world champions. Young OG getting featured on RAW and he had a match on the mania card. And I dont even gotta say shit about Oba. that nigga had one of the biggest matches of the weekend and retired Lesnar. Those 3 were also probably talked about and put over more than anybody else this past week, especially Oba. So... why would I stop watching now all of a sudden when we finally up and getting what we asked for??

Like Ice & Alreadyhome said too im not one of those niggas who will sit and watch some the shit if im not enjoying it .. so if SD has gotten to the point where its unbearable for me or RAW then i'll cut that shit off and just go read twitter commentary to see what happened. I've gone weeks without watching SD before maybe even a month or more when its gotten really bad. I never understood the niggas who'll sit and watch it and complain if they not enjoying it. Cut that shit off and find something else to watch.

Pretty much where I'm at. Its unnecessarily bad considering their roster is good, but It's bad because of booking.

Also, for me, every match is the same. I'm exhausted with superkicks, finishers not finishing matches, and now too many are doing cutters. I expect this indie spot fest in AEW and TNA, but TNA may be least of the three guilty of spamming unoriginal spots. WWE just feels sloppy these days.

I think the bolded is a lil bit of WWE conditioning; finishing moves shouldn’t always have to end the match. That would make it somewhat predictable…

Hence why its a big deal if the FINISHER is hit, because the match is over. It defeats the idea of having signature moves if you have to spam them or they aren't good enough to win your biggest matches.
