2025-26 NBA Season Thread: Back to Agenda Watching!

Added to Calendar: 10-21-25

I know we like to clown on the pels but speaking as someone who had one of their favorite teams taken from them when I was young, it’s a bitch to go through

When I say that Im not even try to clown or hate on them but its whats logical and makes sense from a business standpoint and whats best for the product

It has nothing to do with size or not liking New Orleans, I actually love New Orleans and its one of my favorite places in the states to the visit.....but its not a good basketball market

Small markets like OKC, Salt Lake City, San Antonio have proven consistently that they show up and support their team and thats just not the case for New Orleans, granted some of that is bad ownership but people down there just dont care about basketball like that......Pels will always be a distant after thought to football and its nothing wrong with that

Basketball means so much more to Seattle and its a more deserving market

You can replace New Orleans with Memphis in this discussion if you want but at least Memphis has had real support and connected with the city

Overall my point is I think the league doesnt need 32 teams and should stay at 30

People who want other teams to relocate never suggest their teams to relocate

I cant speak for anyone else but Im being serious and not trolling when I suggest relocation and for most teams it doesnt make sense to relocate

Im a Rockets fan....why would suggest relocating from the 4th largest city in the country in the 5th biggest TV market and the 7th most valuable franchise in the league?

@Freeman likes the Raptors...why would he suggest moving the leagues only international team?

You can go through every team....if you're taking a real pragmatic approach and want whats best for the league New Orleans or Memphis makes the sense

Make New Orleans the new spot for Summer League.....put the Championship game for the In-Season Tournament there

Its so many ways to incorporate basketball into New Orleans without forcing them to support a basketball team full time

Sucks for ya city to suck. You tough you aight ap will be too someday. Pack the pelicans up.

Thanks for saving me the keystrokes.

Benson owns the Saints so the Pels are staying unless she sells
hopefully the two new owner groups will look at what the Vegas Knights did
and build their organization like that
would be nice if Vegas can't get a group together but St. Louis or Kansas City can

A lot of unauthorized niggas in pelicans bitness today 🗒️✍🏾
Just hasn't proven to be a good location for an nba basketball team. Fanbase has tapped out. Like @southsil4lil suggested it would probably be a great option for summer league and the in season tournament.

League just needs to get away from Memphis completely tho.

NO is not a great basketball city but even then when they’re competitive their fans show up. Smoothie King is a smaller venue so the numbers might look skewed, Memphis supports the Grizzlies just a few years ago that place was excited for Grizzlies basketball. Both of these teams are bad right now.

Why is moving them good for the league?

If fans are only interested when your winning its a bad nba city. 🤷🏿‍♂️

In a good nba city fans are excited and support regardless. You don't want a fan base that only supports because of fomo. That means the league is leaving money on the table.

On their best days Memphis and new Orleans crowds aren't selling out the arena. It's a problem.

It’s on them to put a competitive enough team on the floor to give their fans something to cheer for. The Pelicans aren’t leaving the NBA wants basketball in New Orleans.

No one is disputing any of this captain obvious.
