I feel like the writing in the show always been pretty mid but the show is more about the atmosphere and vibes,

that said this season is kind of a letdown but I do like that they are tying things back to previous seasons

lmao @ Hollys journey this season, she got kidnapped, jumped by her friends Max left her to get cigarettes and never came back and almost fell to her death from a different galaxy...this could lowkey be her villain origin story

It also comes from what they explained in the show

When Holly escaped, she escaped from the abyss by digging and then she fell from the abyss through the upside down to our dimension

I figured he fell through the same space that she did. Maybe he got lit up from the lightning because the bridge was just newly formed. Maybe it stabilized afterwards 🤷🏾‍♂️

You saying he went somewhere else sounded like you made up

I didn’t know about that until recently.

I thought 11 sent him to the upside down when he killed all the other kids at Hawkins laboratory but that’s not where he was.

When 11 sent him away, he went to dimension X not the upside down because as they explained, the upside down is just a wormhole or a tunnel it’s actually not a dimension.

Dustin explained all of this in the episode and he called what they were calling dimension X the abyss and that is a different thing from the upside down

That’s also why they couldn’t find
Vecna in the upside down because that’s not where he is

I would say yes, because the wormhole or the upside down was created when 11 sent him flying through the wall into that other dimension, dimension x/The abyss

I’m not exactly sure but it’s safe to say that the upside down was the route he got to that dimension x in

For one thing, he was being sent there and Holly was leaving there digging a hole

But he was never falling the way she was falling and he was changed by the mind flayer as a kid and mid air in the scene when 11 sent him back after the lab massacre

He wasn’t just free falling down to the ground like Holly and we don’t know how gravity works in dimension X, but it’s safe to say that it works differently

But even if it doesn’t work differently, he wasn’t falling down

Also, when 11 sent him to dimension x he had already been affected by the mind flayer when he was a kid when he got sent to dimension X for 12 mins and got his powers.

He was already infected by the mind flayer before 11 sent him to dimension x after the lab massacre.

Henry was already with the mind flayer.

They are slowly explaining this, but yes, the play explains how he went in a cave in Navada and found a scientist and the scientist had stole some equipment. He got shot in the hand, killed the scientist opened up the equipment and got sent to dimension X for 12 hrs

When he came back, he was different and then they moved to Hawkins after a violent episode where he attacked a kid

Dustin said we had everything all wrong about the upside down. It’s a wormhole and on the other side is death or the abyss.

And they showed henry in the cave meeting the scientist and opening up the briefcase that sent him to dimension X in the show

Yeah but they didn't mention the mind flayer and what it did to him. I was hoping they would explain what was in that case.

They got a lot of explaining to do and not a lot of time to do it

Not explicitly but he was getting hit by lightening and it looked like it was changing his skin to what he is now. No idea if that was just environmental or mindflayer or both

Well, they showed him being changed into Vecna in the show

The mind flayer did that . We know it was the flayer because that lightning comes from the mind flayer

in the show, we see that lightning striking him and change him.

And in season four, we see kid Henry drawing pictures of a spider that looks like the mind flayer we know

Basically While the mind flayer was already in existence, it was formless and Vecna put that spider form on it

I don’t know if they’re gonna actually say the sentence “the mind flayer made Vecna “
 
Just to confuse everybody

There is actually another section called the Hellscape There is a void in space and in between our dimension or the right side up and dimension X and is also not the same as the upside down and that is actually where 11 sent Henry after the massacre at the lab and the mind flayer rescued Henry from the Hellscape and changed him into Vecna

I’m not gonna lie. I had the same hostile response when people in the comment sections on YouTube had all this backstory that came from the play and I was just aggravated.

I remember being like “wait a minute so that place that Vecna was at isn’t the upside down and there’s another place called dimension X, but then there’s another place called the Hellscape ?

I got so frustrated. I was like fuck this shit. But now things are starting to make sense to me.

I forgot about the hellscape but I think when I found out about it, I was so confused. I was like “ I just found out about dimension X and now there’s another place?”
 
@Freeman about that post you just liked I was wrong about one thing.

She didn’t send Henry directly to dimension X. She actually sent him to a void, called the hellscape that lies in between dimension X and our dimension and the upside down was created when 11 sent Henry to the hellscape and then the mind flayer who does stay in dimension X basically saved him from the hellscape and turned him into Vecna .

Correction, the upside down was not created when 11 Henry to the Hellscape

The upside down was created the first time that she made contact with a Demigorgon in that void when she was in the deprivation chamber
