FEATURED The Government Is Running Out of Food Stamp Money

The MAGA Supreme Court helps the 🍊 👹 out again…

But the order was issued by Ketanji Brown Jackson. Apparently she did so because the appeals court that issued the order to pay full benefits is supposed to release a further ruling and blocking their order will allow them to do so as quickly as possible.

Right now the appeals court just issued a stay, so apparently blocking the order will allow them to give a resolution to the full motion that’s pending.

lol a bunch of folks online were clowning like "ahhhaaa Ketanji sided with Trump!"

Trumps end game is clear.

Put enough pressure on republicans with the shutdown not ending that they get rid of filibuster. And then use the majority he got to have them pass a ton of voting laws that will either get them to win in 2026 and potentially allow Trump another term in 2028.

He's constitutionally ineligible to run in 2028

There's talk of him getting to it by VP and then having the president stand down but there's a law closing that loophole

Though they have been ignoring the constitution only when it benefits them. 2026-2028 will be some interesting years

A federal judge warned of an “existential threat to democracy” in a searing first-person essay published on Sunday, saying he had stepped down from the bench to speak out against President Trump. He accused Mr. Trump of “using the law for partisan purposes, targeting his adversaries while sparing his friends and donors from investigation, prosecution, and possible punishment.”

The judge, Mark L. Wolf, wrote in The Atlantic magazine that Mr. Trump’s actions are “contrary to everything that I have stood for in my more than 50 years in the Department of Justice and on the bench.”

State officials are considering additional legal action against the Trump administration after it ordered them to “undo” any full benefit payments this month, according to two people familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity to describe the deliberations. About two dozen states have already sued the government in a bid to force the release of full funding for the program, known as SNAP, which is being heard by a federal court in Massachusetts.

Constitutionally barred don't mean shit no more bro. The system of checks and balances failed. We seeing it first hand.

You notice every chance he gets, Trump talks about the 2020 election being stolen from him. They gonna keep saying that and try to use that and getting rid of the fillibuster and stealing more seats in 2026 to get him elected a 3rd term.

All of this might not work and they might fail. But it's clear what they trying to do.

If anything Trump has exposed a big weakness in our government. You can’t rely on norms, you’ve got to legislate explicitly what a president can and can’t do.

Democrats need to propose the Trump Act that counters in legislation everything Trump has tried to do.

@TheNightKing

Has the ACA/ Obamacare personally affected you?
Not personally because I work for a company that provides great benefits. It will probably effect some members of my family though.

Either way, things don’t have to affect me personally for me to care. The mere fact that it affects people in already fucked up situations is enough. And the fact that things tend to disproportionately effect black people is enough.

Let me rephrase my question.......

Has the ACA/ Obamacare affected people around you?

Not that I know of because insurance hasn’t been a topic of discussion with anybody I know. But if I were to guess based on people’s lives most likely.

Why does that matter? Should I only care when I have a personal interest?
